| Overstock.com units Has anyone purchased a refurbished Clie from Overstock.com? What I'm wondering is what kind of packaging it comes in. I'd like to take it to Compusa and buy the warranty, but I don't know if they will allow it if the unit is obviously "refurbished".
The NX70 price on Overstock is very tempting.
Anyone tried this? |

| I tried to purchase a Clie T615C from overstock.com but they never shipped it. I was told (after waiting a couple of weeks) that the unit that I ordered was on a truck that was stolen along with all the other PDA's that people had ordered.
I think that was kind of a lame excuse for overselling a product.

| I purchased a refurbished Clie T615C from a guy on Ebay, then turned around and sold it because the SJ30s came out. The packaging was the same as factory, except no ads on it...just brown cardboard. But there was the UPC with serial number on the outside. The one I bought, then sold, was advertised as looking new...and it did look brand new. The price I paid was $199, I sold it for $225 on Amazon Marketplace. But you could get a refurbished one for $199 from sonystyle.com at that time.
So you might want to check the sonystyle site, too.

| I got a T-615 last fall from them - plan brown box with all the pieces, serial number on the back and a sticker indicating that the unit is refurbished. |

Ditto, except I got mine from uBid. Probably fed from the same source. The unit was flawless, and has been a reliable companion ever since. BTW, it is a T615. |

| The T-615 that I currently own was purchased through a pricegrabber.com "storefront" called liquidation zone. The unit arrived one week after I purchased it. Shipping was only $4.00 and the unit came in a genuine Clie box, not a brown one like my refurb'd 415 did. BTW, I paid $179.00 for it.

| Overstock.com units I received my NX70 from Overstock today ( paid $440 with Fed Ex second day shipping ). It did come in a brown box, apparently directly from Sony ( it had Sony tape sealing the box ).
All of the accessories, manuals, etc. were included and even sealed like new.
Now, does anyone know, if I goto Compusa to buy the PDA plan, does the unit have to be in the box? Or will they just check a "unit only" and make sure it is in good condition, etc.
thanks! |
