Wow, I know this is an old thread, but I couldn't resist. I work with a guy who is a hardcore programmer, and he still uses his Palm Pilot 1000 every day. He syncs it both at work and his home PC, and stores all of his addresses, phone numbers and memos on it. He also develops applications for it whenever he comes up with a need.

Every time I see it on his desk, I can't help but comment as to why he hasn't upgraded yet. His response is that it does everything he needs it to do, and he has no reason to upgrade. While I suppose that may be true for him, I'll stick with my T|T3!

Exclamation Broken M100

I have the Palm M100. When i put batteries in it (that are fully charged) it just makes a high pitched humming noise. It will not turn on, no matter what i do

I still have a palm Vx and Magellan GPS sled that I use for work-related GPS navigation (since my work can be dirty and grimy at times). I also use it for OBD-II diagnostics with my family's various vehicles when someone is having a problem. I do have a T3 for my main workhorse though.

I never had an original PalmPilot, as I was happy using my Atari Portfolio when they were introduced. I still have my Palm IIIx (upgraded to 8MB), and use it from time to time. I sometimes find the monochrome screen for reading e-books than my TH55 (although the larger screen on the TH55 is nice).

My ancient Palm III rests in a shallow grave in the neither regions of my closet. Memories...
My old Palm IIIx is being used by my wife.

First I had an m105, which I later replaced by a T615c, which suddenly couldn'T charge any more, I switched to the NX70v, which eventually broke (The connector that connects the diplay controller to the display broke), I switched to a Zodiace2 which broke during a game of airhockey, becasue the table was unfortunately at the same hight as my pocket. Luckily I kept my m105 (I used during my army time, whenever I had to work outdoors) and it still works....

Does this answer your question?

I am currently using my Palm Personal upgraded to Professional (no IrDa) palmOS 2.0.5 because my TH55 went to sony to get the microphone checked. My N770C/E is broken. I tried to get the dust out from behind the screen and when I took the thing appart the hotsync connector broke off the circuit board. I was able to glue it back on and to restore some of the wireing. Charging works again, but hotsync does not:-(((
Well so fortunately I still had my PalmProfessional in my drawer and voila loaded all the PIM data...works fine, just the categories are gone. But that will be okay, my TH55 should be back in 1-2 weeks;-)
