| Legacy Revenge expansion hints/tips/help I have only just started this excellent expansion for Redshift's brilliant RPG Legacy, so as yet have little to offer in the way of tips and hints!
I post this thread so people can start to ask questions, and also to alert more people to the fact that this expansion has been released. http://www.redshift.hu/legacyrevenge.htm
Good luck playing it and I hope everyone enjoys it as much as I am!
Anyway: my first question - how do you get rid of the forcefield in the bottom of the house, in the area with three wall levers, and nearby a wall button (to do the Wizard's quest when you've finished rescuing the woman's daughters)? |

I found it, just go to the button that did nothing near the second prisonner (forgot her name)
But it leads me to another question : should you follow the instructions and bring the orb to the wizard right away, or go through the demon's door to go and maybe find something interesting?

| It only occured to me NOT to give him the Orb AFTER I'd given him the Orb.
Frankly, I got panik'd by the message -- How's that for "Absorbed in the gameplay" ?? and hustled my *** Right Back to the Wizard.
But if you think about it, "Evil-doers" in Legacy cannot cross Forcefields -- EVEN AFTER THEY ARE DOWN!" So there'd be no INCREASE in demons should you fail to get the door closed in time. Right?

#4 | | Guest | OK, finished the quests in Revenge. It's pretty good, but I'm positive there are a bunch of things I'm missing out on, for instance:
There is a door in the northeast corner of the damsel's basement I can't open, and a keyhole in the wall in the central north of the map I can't find a key for - if you don't give the man the orb, does that make it so you can go in here?
There is a section of off-colored wall in the north of the ancient forest that looks like a secret panel, but no way to open it
There seems to be "stuff" out to the east in the ancient forest, but no way to get through the wall of trees to get there
No clue what the jail is for...
At one point, I met a dying woman who asked about her daughter and gave me an keepsake. Where does this go?
Does anyone have a clue about any of these? I can also answer any other questions anyone has... | |

Hehe!
Well, I had saved my game right before, so I tried both options. When you go through the door, you are met by a bunch of Fire lizards (I think), and a couple amazons.
But they can onlky attack you two at a time since it's a corridor. So I could kill most of them, but the last lizards are Lvl 99 with a whole bunch of Hp!
I do however believe that it might be possible to go further; indeed, if you manage to paralyze the lizards, you can kill them (it takes time, but it is possible I think.)
Anyway, I still have a saved game 'right before pushing the button', so I might give it some trials.

| Amoki: I just touched one of the figures and it disappeared, revealing another statue with some treasure. But I can't work out where the quest item is in that level. I picked up a strange Demon Book but no one seems to want it.
Kitsune: Using a lot of paralysis, those fire lizards in hell are quite easy to take down. Fire lightning bolts as it seems to affect the ones standing behind. Let them advance on you so you can paralyse them one-by-one, otherwise if two are facing you and one is paralysed, it's hit-or-miss whether you will be able to paralyse the other (I think the game should have more AI here - it's not as though a Mage would be so stupid as to fire off spells at the already-paralysed one).
HOWEVER: there is a bug: when I step on the first grid that activates the wall fireball-shooters, the game freezes. My two front fighters get that red splash that pops up momentarily when you take a hit, but the splash doesn't disappear. And no game commands work. Except you CAN get to the main menu and exit the game as normally.
So, I saved at the freeze, then reloaded the freeze. The freeze happens quite a lot of the fireball buttons, so saving and reloading is the lengthy process. Dropping heavy stuff on the buttons also does not appear to keep them down.
Then: this isn't much of a spoiler really so I will reveal what is at the end: a hole in the wall, that is "Magically Sealed" so you can't enter. At this stage I have the orb but haven't given it to the wizard, so technically it should be closed.
There's no special treasure or anything (that I can find) |

In the chess room, with the two yellow pads and the red one, there is a teleporter that will bring you in a corridor leading to a sort of command room (pullchains). The pullchains make some budda statue appear in the chess room. One of them is right in front of the red pad. When you have found that one, step on the pad.
I also have the Demon Book, and do not know what to do with it either! Quote: | Kitsune: Using a lot of paralysis, those fire lizards in hell are quite easy to take down. That's what I intended to do :-) Quote: Then: this isn't much of a spoiler really so I will reveal what is at the end: a hole in the wall, that is "Magically Sealed" so you can't enter. At this stage I have the orb but haven't given it to the wizard, so technically it should be closed.

Too bad! :-(
However, you must gain a hell of a lot of experience by killing such high level monsters?

The northeast door is the one closed by the wizard, as for the keyhole, I can't do anything with it either, neither before or after giving the orb! Quote: | There is a section of off-colored wall in the north of the ancient forest that looks like a secret panel, but no way to open it |
Same for me! Quote: | There seems to be "stuff" out to the east in the ancient forest, but no way to get through the wall of trees to get there |
Same here Quote: | No clue what the jail is for... |
Don't know either Quote: | At one point, I met a dying woman who asked about her daughter and gave me an keepsake. Where does this go? |
I did not see her! Is it in the Thug's Notebook quest? because I haven't finished that one, and frankly I do not know where to go for it!

| I found the use of the Demon book!
Go back and talk to the strange women whom you gave the coin to.

| Here's another thing: in a lot of places are those little red marks on the walls on the automap, usually denoting that a person is standing there in the real map. But there is no one standing there for very many of these marks. There are a couple in the SE of Revenge City, and several in the Cave that leads to the Dwarf area. |

| Umm... nowhere in my chess room has yellow or red pads. Where are they in relation to the main room with all the statues surrounding the blue mana-orb? |

These belong to persons who will appear once you've talked to somebody else somewhere else.

If I remember correctly, it's to the south. In anyway, it's a room to the right of that room with the statues surrounding the mana orb. Try touching those statues!
The Thug's notebook quest can't be accomplished before you finish the dwarf one.
It this regard, this pack is really well done, some quests are sequential, and what I really like is that once a NPC is not needed anymore, he disapears!
