I undestand he released something that lets my nx80 do more stuff. Could someone make a quick summary [in computer-illiterate language lol] of his api and anyother OS upgrades that have been released by him or other people to enhance my nx80v/palm os 5 clies. I apreciate whoever spends the time to do this. I would be very greatful for Links to where to get everything too.
Cliepet figured out the programming that Sony used to make the audio player work on the OS 5.0 Clie's, programming that Sony did not release to the general public. Almost all companies do release the programming so that developers can make their programs work on their devices, but Sony didn't release them for some reason (to protect their trade secrets, didn't want other companies copying their hardware/software, just too lazy to release them, etc. no one really knows why, whatever the reason it doesn't matter now).
Now Cliepet's MCA2 now makes the Clie work like any other Palm device without the developers having to change their code to make it work on the OS 5.0 clies. Its not bulletproof (and may be the reason Sony didn't release the code) but a huge step and untold hours of work on his part that has helped out thousands of people without any compensation sought (well, you can donate money to him. He deserves it. But he doesn't charge a price for his drivers)
