#1 | | Guest | ux50 keyboard shortcuts to stylus taps Could someone please tell me where I can find instructions for keyboard shortcuts to stylus taps. When using in keyboard mode its a bit time and action consuming having to switch to stylus and back.
Sorry if I sound ignorant but I've only recently migrated to ux50 and palm os from ipaq and ppc.
Thanks | |

| You need a program like KeyQuick, do a search. I am new to the UX also and have not mastered that function yet. But looks like a great solution. |

| Keyboard Shortcuts Even though you have only the 3 hard app buttons on the front, you can have additional 10 keyboard shortcuts with the UX. They are activated by pressing the Ctrl key and a number key (0-9) at the same time. A 2 hand operation unless you're much more dexterous than I am, buy still quicker than uning you stylus.
You can switch programs from within any application at almost any time, just like the hard buttons. This is one of the great unsung features of the UX IMHO.
To change / set the programs go to the Prefs and select "Extensions" from the dropdown menu in the upper right. Click on the "Hotkey Setting" button and pick your favorite apps.
So you really have 13 quick apps you can swich to at any time. Cool Huh?

| In a similar vein, does anybody know if there is an app that will do copy and paste with ctrl C, ctrl V off the keyboard. This would seem like an obvious thing to want - I can't believe Sony didn't put it in as standard |

| Answering my own question on ctrl C etc - you can do it, you don't need KeyQuick and Sony did put it in as standard.
Where I was going wrong was expecting the ctrl key to be 'sticky' it isn't!
Try ctrl k for a full list of control functions :-) |

| One of the best things about Keyquick is that it makes the shift, control and blue keys sticky. Give it a try! It's worth enduring the learning curve.

| If I had a penny for each time someone suggests a third party app to do something that's built in, I could buy another screen protector by now...
The shift and blue keys are already sticky by default.
The CTRL key isn't sticky, by design -- an accidental ctrl+somekey action could be a minor disaster, depending on what you're doing.
If you really want the CTRL key to be sticky, by all means get Keyquick or a similar app. If the aim is to get the shift or blue key to become sticky, don't bother, cause they already are!
Regards,

| Sorry, arth1. Didn't mean to be spreading misinformation.
I realize that keyquick isn't needed to make the shift and blue keys sticky. I was just typing faster than I was thinking.
