| DateBk 5 and Agendus are the top two. I'm a DB5 user myself. Give it a shot.
I'm not sure what you're looking for in a "data manager", however, so can't post a recommendation at this time.

| Smart Lists to Go is good if you want to make databases on the palm. And it can sync with MS Access if need be. Is that what you are looking for??? |

| DateBK5 and SmartList 2 Go hands-down.
DateBK5 offers more features than you will ever use while keeping the screen clean and efficient.
SmartList 2 Go offers on-board database, for, and view design. It's surprisingly powerful. Creating new databases is easy and actually fun. Brings back the joy of earlier programming days.

| Ya, when it comes to datebk replacement datebk5 and agendus are also the only 2. datebk5 is more like a datebook replace only. Only limited contact/todo integration while agendus pretty much replaces datebook/contact/todo at the same time.
I use Keycontact for phone book replacement and it does its job well with sync'ing completely with Outlook.
I've heard Handbase is a good database program? |

#7 | | Guest | I have been a user of SmartListTogo since it was ThinkDB (version 1!), but I am currently evaluating HanDBase 3...
Reasons as follows:
1. I haven't seen any new development on SLTG in a long while; would love a database that takes advantage of the UX50's wide screen and I think HanDBase will get there first.
2. Lack of encryption in SLTG; I used to keep sensitive data in encrypted fields using ReadThis! which is hack based and won't work on OS5. I'm not willing to leave this data unencrypted, so I have to find an alternative.
3. I'll give SLTG the nod hands down for creating and modifying databases on the PDA, but the desktop app is a bit sketchy. The HanDBase desktop looks better so far.
Maybe I'll keep both - lots of memory spoils me... | |

| Neither Agendus or Datebk is best - they are both good and have their positives and negatives. Personally, I prefer Agendus and have used it for several years. I periodically download new versions of Datebk but I find the Agendus works well for me "out of the box" and I would have to spend a lot of time customizing Datebk in order to make it work for me.
Others prefer Datebk and love the fact that there are so many ways to customize it.
I've stuck with Agendus because I like its contact-oriented features and it works for me. |

| My wife got Datebk5 -- I've still got Agendus. I'm using it because I've been using it. Besides that I customized a lot of icons and don't want to have to redo them all...
Both will do better than the standard datebook. I'd check the features on both and see which is right for you. |

#11 | | Guest | Best Date program I've looked at both and I like Agendus a bit better especially looking at Agendus Pro. It integrates email with the contact management functionality and gives a tree view of your todo's by category. DateBk5 has the advantage of being able to link multiple todo's and link multiple types of things (eg. todo to other todos or memo items), but Agendus seems more streamlined to normal daily activity and makes contact linking very intuititive in addition to displaying the linked contact in bold on your items. In the end, look at both and see what makes sense for you.

| I prefer Chapura's KeySuite ( http://www.chapura.com/ ).
It syncs very well with MS Outlook and, because it does not used PalmOS built-in dbs, it avoids the 4k limit on memo fields, a BIGGIE for me.

| If you are looking for an address book replacement, I tried many and I finally settled for EasyAddress, because it is the only one doing the search the way I want : I type directly a few chars in the search box and it will look for these chars in all the records in the names/company fields and only the matching records will be left on the list.

| Can you use Agendus and datebk5 and export information from your computer into the Palm device. Do you have software on your computer that sync's or does it sync off of Outlook?
