Unhappy PicselViewer for pdf

Hi,

I think I noticed similar comments here before, but maybe
they have to be repeated for Sony to come up with a solution.

I have not found out how to use PicselViewer with pdf in a
satisfactory manner.

- Even moderately sized pdfs (*500 MB) work incredibly slow
or crash.

- Some pdfs do not display at all, just blank pages with a
Picsel symbol in the upper left corner

- On files created by Distiller from html help spaces between
words got lost

Has anybody encountered similar problems and figured out a solution?

Greetings!

Yes - PicselViewer is pretty lame, but it's the only native-mode PDF viewer we currently have. I often find myself breaking larger PDF documents down into smaller "chunks" just so this piece of $#!7 can read them - but for now it works better than nothing.

Best wishes,
Bawko

The alternative is to ignore PV and to used Adobe's Acrobat Reader for the PalmOS. It works fairly well, is definately much faster than PV, but the downside is that I can't delete PV so it's a memory burn.

joker9989,

The other downside is that Adobe Acrobat Reader for PalmOS is one of the biggest pieces of garbage ever written for ANY platform. This is the number 1 piece of software on my "HATE" list.... it is so bad it is almost unbelievable.

Not only is the software buggy and bloated, but it also makes you convert Adobe's OWN FORMAT files to something ELSE before you can view them on your Clie!!!!! What kind of bull$#!T is that? I have literally hundreds of .PDF files I use EVERY DAY in my business, does Adobe think that I want to sit down for WEEKS and convert everything over before I can use their stupid PalmOS viewer? I don't think so.

Best wishes,
Bawko
