i think you're getting confused with lightSPEEd, not lightwav..

| CliePet, what can I say...Wow! I finally got around to trying out MCA2 on my TG50 and was amazed! Great work. I've experienced no clicking sounds. Your free little utility really revolutionizes the Clie's audio abilities. Thanks! |

| I didn't have to use Aeroplayer for more than a minute before I realized it is superior to Sony's Audio Player.

and what is better, is that OGG is FREE to play using aeroplayer!
only need to pay for mp3....
and if i want to play mp3', i'll use sony audioplayer for that!

| Here are the results from my test run on a NX80V (1GB CF Card)using PocketTunes 2.3.2:
Test 1
I installed MCA2 and then ran PocketTunes with Zlauncher enabled. I get the clicking sound everyone is talking about. Also when one song ended & the next one started playing the beginging of the song is choppy. It would start & stop a couple of times. But after this it would continue playing.
Test 2
I performed a soft reset, exited out of Zlauncher, installed MCA2 & then ran PocketTunes. No clicking soud heard. Everything sounded great except for the next song being a little choppy like in test 1.
Test 3
This a continuation of Test 2's soft reset. Stopped song & exited out of PocketTunes & enabled Zlauncher. Opened PocketTunes & started playing same song. Clicking sound back.
Test 4
This a continuation of Test 2's soft reset. Stopped song & exited out of PocketTunes. Exited out of Zlauncher. Reopened & started playing same song in PocketTunes. Clicking still there.
Test 5
This a continuation of Test 2's soft reset. Exited out of PocketTunes after stopping the current song playing. Turned off PDA. Turned back on PDA, opened PocketTunes & played the same song. NO clicking sound. I then stopped & exited out of PocketTunes & started Zlauncher. Reopened PocketTunes and played the same song. Still NO clicking sound.
Test 6
This a continuation of Test 2's soft reset. Stopped PocketTunes & shut off PDA. Turned back on PDA after 30 sec & started PocketTunes. The Clicking sound was back. I tuned unit on & off several times Turning Zlauncher on & off also. The clicking sound remained.
Test 7
I performed another soft reset like in Test 2. Clicking sound gone once again.
Hope this helps CliePet. If there is anything I can do to help narrowing the problem, just ask. This is the least I can do for someone who is going to make my NX80V with a 1GB CF & 512 MS Pro be the ultimate PDA! |

| I've tried it with european NX73V and a Aeroplayer.
It works fine also with CF cards.
Using Memory Stick clicking, with CF it's perfect!
good works

| Can someone get Bejeweled to work? Apparently, it autodetects the NX80 and refuses to give me the music volume control. I've already installed the music files. Quote: Originally posted by thinking anyone try with Lightwav? |
I tried it. It plays the sound (as it uses PocketTunes) but it won't assign a sound to an app. It looks like Lightwav's own error though (something with scrollbar.c).
I'm not sure if it's Lightwav's fault or my clie's. My NX80 has recently become buggy (perhaps a malfunctioning processor, cache, or flash ROM). |

| (replies to many posts) Selective comments: App Specific:
>When I tried running PSpeak (from mapopolis) I get the error: "MCA2 Create: sndInt 16Little" and then a soft reset. Any ideas?
They are requesting a currently unsupported 8-bit format.
I'll look into supporting it for .02 or .03.
> I got the same thing when trying to run the Palm versions of NesEm and Gizmo.
Not sure what the problem is here.
I can download the programs, but they don't come with a demo ROM.
I'd appreciate it if you could point to a demo ROM that illustrates the problem [ie. don't ask me to search for WareZ ROMs...]
> Wave Edit Pro: error "Sampled Sound API not Available"
>... AudacityPro say "MCA2 Create:not sndOutput"
That requires the INPUT sampling API. I hope it can be done eventually, but no promises.
> AcidSolitare and AcidFreecell both crash with an error.
Error "(Sys 0505) (0,1122)"
They are calling SndPlayResource which I will implement in .02 or .03
> ....Mapopolis IS using mca1 (I reffered them to it ...)
Thanks for the correction.
> 3.HandDee-SA crash when run it.
Not sure what this one is doing, I'll look into it.

General comments:
> Does this allow your to use these programs that have not implemented you MCA1 into their code?
Exactly. MCA1 is officially obsolete (but still an option for developers to use directly).
> If you can get this one worked out, I would pay for MCA2 alone.
FWIW: all my hacks have been and will remain free. FWIW/IMHO: Software like this should be free (as in 'free beer')
>... it is very apparent that our NX series PDAs were horribly crippled from the factory.
I see it as "ahead of their time"
FWIW: There are many features of the NZ90 that may never be seen again on a PalmOS PDA
[CF slot, WiFi and BT, USB hosting albeit limited, mega-Pixel camera, TV output, ...]
> Someone needs to email a link to this thread to Sony development.....
They are already aware of it, it is already on the cliedeveloper BBS.
----------------------------
> when you soft reset, you have to run the MCA2 program again before you can run any other sound program (aeroplayer)
Yes, the install is not "sticky". That is intentional (this is still a test version)
A future version will be packaged as an App Extension to be there all the time.
re: CLICKING
> and now i am not getting any clicking......
> ...I had some clicking when I first tried MCA2 with Aeroplayer. ...
(and many other comments)
The clicking appears to be "pot luck"
I believe it is random timing collisions (one too many mutexes). It is now at the top of my list to look at.
Using the exact same setup, sometimes it clicks, then I turn off the PDA to let it rest, resume the program and it stops clicking. Very unpredictable (and no reliable work around AFAIK)
