I do not know anything about the map programs out there, so please if there is a thread related to what I am asking, you can throw me a link.
I am traveling from Columbus Ohio, to Albany NY tomorrow, and I wondered what program would be good for directions and Map Views along the way. Is there a simple (non-gps) program that will do this?
I don't have any gps things, but just for curiosity sake, how much $ would it cost to do what I want to do with GPS
Go to MapQuest or MSN MapPoint and print out your route. If you must have it on your PDA use MapQuest and copy the directions to a TXT file and transfer them into your PDA notepad. Picture maps are harder. You've got to copy them to JPG and read them from a reader such as AcidImage or JPG Show. However, this method is only good as a backup. It's just much easier to read your directions and map from paper.
