Does anyone know if the UX50 has a Flash ROM? From what I've read, Palm devices with Flash ROM make their unique serial number available and thus readable in ROM.
I would like to write a software program that can read a UX50's hardware serial number for asset management tracking (cause my boss wants to buy quite a few of them for the company and we need to keep track of them electronically). I noticed the iPaqs for example running Windows Mobile have indeed an Asset Tracking program that will display the iPaq's unique serial number (which matches the serial number etched into its back side). I hope the UX50 can do the same thing. If anyone has a UX 50 and check into this, I'd be quite grateful. A friend of mine said he went to CompUSA to look at a different Clie (forgot the model number) and that the Info Panel in Palm OS 5.2 indicated a different unique number other than the the Clie's serial number (he was bewildered because he didn't know what this other number meant).
