NX70V Video Recorder ROM for the FH-55

I have a NX70V which I can rip the ROM of the VideoRecorder program if someone who has a FH-55 wants to try to see if it works. It should be more compatible than the UX which has a default landscape view.

I want to know if it works before I decide to upgrade to the FH-55.

Can someone also tell me where the camera is? Is it the circular thing in the back? Or the scrolling thing on the back?

TH55 comes with voice recorder app so the NX would be a down grade. As for the lense, it is on the back of the TH55.

Yes, I know that the results from a UX50 ROM was successful, though done by someone in Taiwan. I would like to know if a NX70V ROM would work, since it would be more similar to the TH-55 than the UX50.

The ux50 (not nx70) videorecorder.prc works just fine, and records with sound.

Why Sony didn't include it is anyone's guess as it's a handy thing to have, but if you do a web search for the file it's easy to find.

I certainly don't feel guilty about using it: I've bought several Clies and it's annoying to have features removed from a machine when I've already paid for them in previous models.

I used to have an nx70v, until it got knicked, I bought a th-55 as a replacement, if you still have the rom of the video recorder I would love to try it out ( the camera is on the back , its in the centre of the big round silver bit, just above it are the scroll wheel and the little black button you see on pictures is the 'back' button )

thanks.

I actually bought a TH55 already, and someone was nice enough to send me a UX-50's Movierecorder.prc which works perfectly. I'll be glad to pass it along, just email me.

After installing Movierecorder, my TH55 would no longer take still shots and PicselViewer would not launch. After removing Movie recorder, all is well again. Has anyone else had these problems?

Using the version of Movierecorder that made my TH55 sick, I recorded a couple of videos. I can transfer the videos to the computer w/o a problem but they are in a format that the computer does not understand. They are not standard mpeg4. How do you convert the video to play on the computer?

You can edit the file and change the file extension from .mqv to .mov and play it with Quicktime movie player.

ok.. i know maybe many of u have already knew this but i just wanna make a statement here so that maybe it could convince some doubtful users.

I tried it on the TH55 yesterday (the UX one i think) and it works flawlessly.... the voice recorded in the movie was surprisingly clear

there u go go and try it!!!
