| Persistent fatal error after fresh hard-reset Please help! I'm totally at a loss now. A few days ago, I installed MegaClock to see how good it is. When installed, WAClock refused to work, giving me a fatal error. If I remove MegaClock, WAClock will work.
However, after a few days, the problem spreaded to other programs such as DiddleBug, LightSpeed, and even CLIE FAQ! I have no idea what could cause it because I've done practically nothing during these days (except trying out Warfare 1.1).
So I decided to do a total system cleanup. I removed everything from JackFlash and released the flash area. Then I did a hard reset. Then FRESH after that reset (no hotsync, no nothing), I launched WAClock. To my horror, it gave the same fatal error as before. It's like this :
MemoryMgr.c, Line:3675, Invalid chunk ptr
It seems to be fairly common around here, but I have no idea how this could happen after a hard reset. Obviously I don't have Megaclock after a hard reset. I tried installing and removing MegaClock and it still doesn't work. Worse yet, I tried DiddleBug (after this hard reset) and it still doesn't work.
I tried a warm reset (press UP while resetting) - same fatal error, except without a reset box to press on (and a bit less text). :-(
Then I decided to try the very last thing ... I unscrewed the battery cover, took the plug out, left it for 10 minutes. When I reconnected it, the time was reset to 0:00 Jan 1 2003 so the power must've been really cut. And guess what ...
It STILL doesn't work. Same fatal error, in WAClock.
Note that most other apps still work fine (as far as I can tell). Only a few select ones are affected (WAClock, DiddleBug, CLIE FAQ, Lightspeed ... so far).
If anyone has any insight, please tell me. I'd be really really grateful.
Thanks in advance. |
