MPEG 4 in the TH Clie?

Howdy!

I'm getting closer to buy the TH-55 and would appreciate a clarification on the doubt below.

I have one doubt about the video part. Sony's website says it plays mpeg-1, no word on mpeg-4. Anybody tried this format? Did it work or Sony really did not add mpeg-4 playback capability to the TH-55?

Thanks in advance.

From the specs:
----
Formats (when viewing)
Movie file: QuickTime file format*,
MPEG-1 (MPEG Movie)
* The playback is only capable for the files created for Mobile Movie products.
-----
The QuickTime format is in fact an MPEG4 movie stream (with major format restrictions), encapsulated in the QuickTime file.
The movie recorder app (not provided on the TH) and the memory stick video recorder use this format.
The video encoder and decoder for that format is built into the TH55 system.

Thanks for the reply!

So it means I would be able to watch movies in MPEG-4 format?

What is the difference for the UX-50? Sony states this model is MPEG-4 compatible. Is that because it can record movies in MPEG-4?

Cheers!
