| It has been great for me and I am pretty spoiled with a huge monitor on my desktop. There are several formats with Netfront to choose from so, depending on the site you are viewing you can choose what is appropriate for your viewing needs.

| Coming from a UX-50 it takes about a day to get used to it. For me at least, NetFront is much faster, and my WiFi range is much better on my TH than the UX. I am realloy enjoying my TH.

| Wow, great news. Thanks.
So how is surfing on 100% brightness? 3-4 h realistic?
Also, it doesnt slow down while browsing + listening to MP3?
Sounds liek a great device. Hmm, I wonder what I will sell my UX for. Quote: Originally posted by JOHNGAETANO Coming from a UX-50 it takes about a day to get used to it. For me at least, NetFront is much faster, and my WiFi range is much better on my TH than the UX. I am realloy enjoying my TH.

In a day and age when product pushers typically exaggerate the heck out of capabilities/features, it turns out that Sony's claims are closer to truth than mere puffery. I honestly don't know precisely how long you can surf on one charge, because I keep giving out long before the battery does. My brightness level stays mid-way, which is-- even for these old-school retinas-- more than bright enough. On one evening, I pulled and read about 3 dozen RSS feeds with Hand/RSS, went back and forth to NetFront to "open link" to view fuller articles, listened to MP3's in the background, and shot notes from the browser to the Clie Organizer's memopad-- for at least 4 hours straight. Fell sleep with the stylus in one hand and the device in the other. When I awoke and checked the battery level, it was about 70%. The best description here is somewhere between *astounding* and *jaw-droppingly superb*. Also, it doesnt slow down while browsing + listening to MP3?
No. The only time I really saw a noticeable lag was when I added handwritten notations to the memopad, and then only when within that app itself. It's irritating, but given the trade-off re battery life, screen size/brightness/clarity, it's acceptable (to me).
BTW, there really is no need for landscape for browsing, as NetFront makes it super-easy to reformat for the narrow screen, eliminating left-right scrolls.
Bottom-line: Sony rates background music playing at 20+ hours, and browsing at 8 or so hours. I haven't pulled out a stop watch, but all I know is that one is much more likely to fall asleep after "hangin' out" with the TH55 than to reach for the AC cord.
I will note one thing-- the internal speaker leaves something to be desired in terms of listening to MP3's. But a set of headphones or the stereo cradle brings back the joy. Fortunately, I had the latter cradle from my TG50 days, so I'm a happy camper indeed. Nokia will have NetFront in their series 60 phones later
Great news, thanks. Then again, I've found Doris Browser to be good also. It'll be interesting to run 'em both thru a comparative browsing session. |

| TreoRenegade,
great feedback thanks!
OK I cant find anything I dislike with this machine, I mtrying so hard
The UX is very nice as well but aloty of moving parts, and a bit to awkward when using the camera. Also the battery time is not at all that impressive with wlan.
Im going to buy the TH when it comes out mid-march in Europe with Bluetooth.
Thnaks again. |
