| Miss Clie,
I think that's called cruel and unusual punishment.

At 50% backlight you will probably get between 6-8hr. I will probably test 50% setting next month and post the results. |
Your T665c was better than mine. Set at 100% for my old T665c I was getting 1:45 hours max. 2:15 if I set the backlight at 50%. So far my new TH-55 has gone 4:30 hours of set-up, PIM, and games and dropped from 4.20v to 4.09v. Not using Power Save Mode and the screen is at 100%. If only my T3 could do that .

FIA WRC: Fear not for your old T665C, in January, I sent my T665C for battery replacement (IMO, I do not think they replaced the battery). My T665 with old battery averaged 1:10 hours with 100%. Post-return I got 2:10 hours with 100%.
Anyway, I guess this is the official TH55 battery result thread. Since my TH55 got 4:30 hours, this meets the Sony battery life spec in the manual.
Page 81
9 days when PIMs, such as Date Book, are operated for 30 minutes per day with backlight on*.
* The brightness level of the backlight is a the highest when the backlight is on.
Translation: 9 days * 30 min/day = 270 min = 4.5 hrs.
If you send or post your BatteryTime results on TH55 with backlight set to 100%, I am willing to collect, plot and post results using Excel.
This would allow users to compare their brand new TH55 to verify they are starting out with a TH55 unit with a healthy battery. If not, then they have time to return for a better unit (I think).
This is not precise, but with enough samples we can get a good average number to expect from new units.

| 4:18- with battery time. A full 10 minutes less than what was posted. Is this bad or is this just a normal variation of the TH55 battery? How did the others do? |

4:29-, what is 11min between members? Post your memopad results or PM them to me and I will combine on Excel plot and post the the above thread.
Now you have to wait to recharge, hence the reluctance to run the test probably. I would like to get a good sample for the community to use as a reference. |

| I mentioned this in another thread, but it'd be good to see people do battery tests with different backlight settings, to see how the backlight setting affects battery performance.

Only a small sample. If you post more, then I will include your result and post on Monday/Tuesday to this thread.
I do not recommend a member running multiple tests at different settings because I believe you only get 500 full charges out of your battery (and living without your device for that time). Enjoy your TH55.
PalmBench gave the same results as BatteryTIME (when testing my T665C) so I will include either result in the average and standard deviation calculation. | |

| We have two results I think with 0% backlight setting (but backlight still on). Perhaps a few people will volunteer to try 50%?

My TH55 seems to filling in the low side of the curve. I got 4 hours, 5 minutes at 100% down to the 10% level.

| Yes, the red light will go off eventually. However on mine, I have noticed that it will claim a 100% charge for a period of time before the light goes out.
On a slightly different issue, as a followup to my previous post, I found that my previous battery test was influenced by the fact I had my keyboard driver active during the test. With that off I get an extra 15 minutes bring my GoGo upto the average. |
