| And what about ecost.com orders? I submitted my order on 2/14 and their website still shows a status of backordered. |

| I cancelled my BB preorder just because Dell had a better price. In the end, I'll see whether they'll ship it to me ahead of BB or Ecost. No telling though as they have been known to deliver late. Oh well, if only I had the money to burn, I would have gone to Sonystyle. |

| My only problem is that Best Buy is a close competitior to Compusa and Circuit City, yet they are planning to get shipments 2 weeks later?
How can BB even stay compeittive at having the latest and greatest being shipped late? Ridiculous...
And for the people who said CC will pricematch-I called up my local CC and they said they would pricematch BB but nothing on the internet, even if it is BB ordered online. |

| The problem is BB has the TH55 at full price right now. So, no pricematch. They will not honor the prorder prices. sucks! |

| The reason Circuitcity and CompUSA have them first is because they are the "official" resellar of Sonly products. Thats why all TH comes out the same time as SonyStyle. |

What does "official" reseller mean?
If I go to the TH55 at the sonystyle.com site and click on Dealer Locator I can enter my zip code to find retailers that Sony Style is telling me to buy from.
The results show Best Buy, Circuit City, Office Depot, Sears, Staples, and CompUSA.
So what makes CC and CompUSA "official"?
Also, look at this: Sony Authorized Dealers
Looks like BB is there.

#10 | | Guest | Pricematch strikeout Well, I took a printout of my reciept to two Circuit City's and two CompUSA's and struck out. All of them had them in stock but none would pricematch or even come close.

| I figure that even at the $319 price Best Buy had on their website, they are still getting a $4-5 profit on each device, rather than having no sale.
Its not even the sale-its the customer loyalty and satisfaction-If they don't give you your pricemath, tell them I will advice people not to come to Circuit City anymore.
I called up a couple minutes ago a local CC in Livingston NJ, and they agreed to pricematch my device. However, I'll prob need to go straight to customer service and talk to them.
It's too bad for Best Buy-they're losing many sales because of this. |

| Personally I think that BB has been "put on hold" in terms of getting the TH55 precisely because of their decision to severely limit the number & type of devices (read: "probably no Sonys") they will carry "in store." Without such exposure, Sony's sales are bound to suffer.
Why shouldn't stores that *do* give shelf space to Sony thereby affording them greater sales get the PDAs first?
As for price matching, persistence pays off. |

#14 | | Guest | Where's the TH? The only good thing about getting rejected for the price match is the knowledge that this must be a great price for nobody to want to sell it for that.

| I don't mind saving $80 to wait a couple weeks. I got an e-mail from Best Buy on 2/20 that said it would ship within the next 25 days
