| Is there any PDA out there better than UX50? I want to buy a PDA, and have my eye on an UX50. However, i was wondering if there are any PDAs out there that are better than the UX50. I'll take personal opinions and facts also.
Thanks in advance

| yep, it's and its name is nokia 9500 http://www.mobilmania.cz/Mobilnitel....asp?ARI=106637
REALLY good machine. I'm seriosly thinking of this one
has got keyboard, wifi, gprs, edge, bluetooth, keyboard,
screen resolution is 640x200, has got multitasking, plenty of applications. 80MB internal memory. MMC slot .. but is a bit larger and weights 222g
but that is the real communicator |

Depends on what you need.
Alot of other PDAs have a better screen than the UX.
Alot of other PDAs have a better processor than the UX.
Alot of other PDAs have better battery life than the UX.
Alot of other PDAs have better expandability than the UX.
Alot of other PDAs have more memory than the UX.
Some PDAs have better Wifi range than the UX.
Some PDAs are better if you're lost and need a map or directions.
Some PDAs are better if you need to make a phone call.
Some PDAs are better if you need to take a good picture.
Some PDAs are better if you want to listen to lots of music.
The list is endless. |

| Not that I can think of. I did quite a bit of research before I purchased mine. Of course, something better will come out this year, but that will always happen with high-tech.
I am a very picky about my technical gear, and I have to say that this is THE best overall unit that I have ever owned. |

| After the screen whine and the crooked screen, I say the UX is the best investment I've made (until the next UX comes out!)

| I would have to agree that the UX50 is the best purchase I have made in quite some time. I have never wanted to do anything with it that I was not able to do. I have never seen anyone else do something with their PDA that I could not do (with the exception of certain things that my friend does with his Hitachi G1000, but that's a pocket pc-based device, and inherently can do more with a windows machine). Since I REALLY don't want a non-palm device, the UX is definitely the best out there, in my opinion.. |

| Nokia 9500 comes out in end of year which means u will be able to get your hands on it early next year. secondly its based on the symbia OS which means lack of software.

| by the time nokia 9500 is out, cobalt would be the predominant OS. That would also mean that Sony should have released some clies with the OS. My brother in law had the 9210 and he hated it after a while (does sticking out of the pocket mean anything to you?)..

| The only device in the running for me would be something like the Sharp Zaurus SLC750-C860. It's got the same flip around screen and keyboard layout, with a much better and bigger screen (640x480), better expansion, and more memory. But it runs Linux, which means that there may not be as much software for it, it doesn't have internal Bluetooth or WiFi, so you'd have to add a card or two, and it doesn't have an internal camera.
I could have chosen that when I got the UX -- and I considered it. But ultimately I decided I wanted a well-integrated WiFi/BT machine with unlimited software options. And I'm very happy I chose the UX.

| JustaNoob I was considering the sharp also because of the gorgeous screen, but the lack of bluetooth was the turn off for me and lack of software.

| Oh yeah. Now that I've tasted BT/WiFi I'll never go back to a machine that doesn't have both -- preferably internal.

As long as I pay for GSM service w/ no limit on GPRS I will only accept a platform with BlueTooth. In addition the freedom to sync and surf via WiFi is obvious.
Hence the reason I will not run out and purchase a TH. |
