| (external) Thumb keyboard I'm interested in getting a TH-55, but I find the keyboard on my NR really helpful (especially since I lost the stylus).
Is there any thumb keyboard for the TH, just like the ones for palm? (Snap N Type, Targus Thumbpad, Palm Mini Keyboard - http://www.pdabuyersguide.com/tips/keyboards.htm#thumb). I don't like the full size keyboard cuz they take too much space and most of them need to be set on a solid surface (can't type standing up, for example).
For that matter, is there such a keyboard for any Clie?
Thanks.

I don't actually. I was a big fan of the flip-up design of the NR when it came out, but now I just want a table PDA with WiFi (a Sony Table Wifi VG PDA, to be more precise).
The $300 NX + $140 wifi card is way more than the TH. And one of the main reasons I want the TH is it's good battery life when it comes to playing mp3s.
But thanks anyway.

| There is the Clie KB20, a thumbboard that works with other Clie models. I bought one on sale recently, hoping to use it (however rarely) with my soon-to-arrive TH55. Sony's site does not list the KB20 as compatible with the TH55, but they have released an OS5.2 driver, so I hope it works. If anyone has tried, I'd love to know. |

| No one has tried that keyboard as far as I know. How about the palm wireless keyboard? Will that be useful for you? |

Not really, since it involves some horizontal support for the keyboard. But, anyway, that one is a pretty neat idea.
Thanks

| The wireless keyboard will do in many circumstances, but the KB20 might be handy for some sometimes. |

#11 | | Guest | KB20 Use I recently bought the KB20 to work with my SJ-33 from Futureshop ofr under 50 CDN with taxes. It works great, I have been using to write my blog and reply to e-mails. I have written a few articles on it as well, but I always end up editing them on the laptop before sending them in or posting them up.
I don't have a PALM OS 5 Clie, I bought the SJ-33 because of the price point and it's hard case. I also really liked the fact that with the BT100 Bluetooth Memory Stick, I could use my Nokia 6310i to send and receive emails over GPRS and also have a better way of writing sms/texts. I like my phones and PDA's as two different units, mostly because I end up runnig down the battery on the phone pretty quickly. I really don't want to be tied do a power supply, especially if I am on the go all day.
The keboard has been fantastic but I am really ticked that Sony is bowing out but also a little thankfull as some of the prices have already to drop. I would not of bought the KB20 at it's previous 80 CDN dollar price.
I guess now I have to wait until Palm either produces a WiFi/BT unit or somebody makes a smartphone with a killer battery life and expansion slots. The Kyocera is cool but no slot and the Treo is cool too but it's only a Phone. When I'm at home or in the office, I want to use the availale WiFi.
This probably doesn't help you much but this keybaord is definately worth the
purchase. | |

| KB20 Incompatible with TH-55 I picked one of the KB20's up for my TH-55 and loaded the Mini Key software. Not a beep, icon or letter will come from the keyboard . Has anyone come across a driver / hack for the TH-55 I noticed further up the link the OS5.2 driver, has this worked or is the hardware incompatible ?

| I have KB20 keyboard which was originallly used for my SJ 33. I downloaded the driver update from sony website for Os 5.2. Not a single response. The keyboard is dead in the water. I even made sure the hold button was not on. It just will not work on the Th55. The website lists all the compatable clie handhelds for the update and it is no surprise that the TH55 is not included. It's like they have abandoned this Clie completely. Please, we need a hack to use this keyboard. Anybody?
