#1 | | Guest | clie nz90 + memory options I have an NZ90 for a week now and have spent ALL my time trying to trick it out/make it most efficient. I think I've whittled down the neccessary programs, but with everything installed, I had to move the database of avantgo to the memory stick. It works fine except it is MUCH slower than the internal memory- even accessing simple screens. THE QUESTION IS then, what are my options? Can I move things safely to rom? Is there faster memory sticks (I use a 256 magicgate pro stick)? | |

| chances are that you have other programs besides avantgo
try using a program such as POWERRUN to move other apps to the memory stick. some apps don't like to be run from memory stick though.
JACKFLASH can be used to free up around 4megs, give or take, to put other programs into ROM. here's a list of possible programs to put into ROM: http://www.cliesource.com/forums/sh...light=jackflash

| right Right- I wasn't exactly verbose on that- I have a few other programs (chess, deepreader, etc.) that I found I like in addition to the ones that came with the NZ90. Avantgo just had the ability to move it's database to the memorystick natively. I guess my question really came down to the speed of accessing data on the memory stick. Are their faster versions of the stick? I will most likely use JackFlash to free up enough room so Avantgo can jump back to the internal mem and be quick like it should be.
anitanium, I noticed you have the wifi card. What do you think? Do you use it at starbucks, panera, etc. on the road? What email reader do you use?

| Putting in my two bits worth, I use WIFI card at Starbucks and others all over the world. I use Snappermail, Verichat and Netfront and where there is no WIFI I use the same three programs via bluetooth using my SE T610.
I am actually at Starbucks right now in Singapore and yesterday at Starbucks in Jakarta using WIFI. |

| WiFi is excellent
i use netfront at school (university is WiFi enabled) and verichat for msn and icq. It isn't blazing fast like my laptop because the NZ takes a while to render pages, but it beats bringing my laptop to school everyday
i don' use it for email or anything like that (since shaw email doesn't like to be accessed from anywhere else except its own network)
mostly just browsing or getting notes for the next class. in combination with the battery adapter, i have lasted for nearly 2 weeks of frequent use on 4AA duracell ultras (they last forever)

| Cool wireless. Love that stuff...
OK, let me just get on track a bit again...
Is the 256 magicgate memory stick pro the fastest extra mem for the NZ90 or is there 12x or 32x or something? |
