How can i transfer my Clie Memo files to PC

Hello all,

Once upon a time i owned amonst various other things a Compaq Ipaq. It had a similar little app like the Clie Memo whereby you could easily jot some notes down in freehand format and transfer them onto your PC via ActiveSync and view them in Microsoft Word as a 'picture'.

I've noticed that there isnt anything similar like that in the Clie.

I can (and often do to conserve memory) transfer them to my memory stick. I have the MS Import app whereby i can view the contents of my memory stick from my pc but im not having any luck finding the relevant memos.

Am i on the right track? Anyone else encoured this situation? Anyone have any suggestions?

I rely pretty heavily on the Clie Memos and would like them to be accessed by my PC but im stumped on how to do it.

Bugme has a desktop viewer, I don't remember anything available for Clie memo. Clie memo files are stored in the /PALM/PROGRAMS/CLIEMemo/ folder on the memory stick.

yes, i see where they are stored on memory stick but i cannot view them. if i try and move them around the system treats them as a palm executable and tries to sync them again

You can move them via MS Import, but the problem is viewing them. According to the Sony manuals that I had re-read a few minutes ago, you can only beam to another Clie that has Clie Memo. I do know that Bugme' which is similar has a desktop viewer. I also came up empty searching back through some threads for help.

(Clié Memos are vector gfx, that's why you can't open them, besides that they are still packed into a pdb

had a little brainstorm......

think of the problem this way. stop treating the NX as a PDA and more like a PC. With that in mind if i want to take a screen shot of a particular screen to paste it into a Word Document (as an example) i would use (more than likely) the print screen button and then paste it into word.

with that in mind, why cant i do that in the NX?

well after 1 hour looking around the net and with alot of trial and error i came up with this site

http://linkesoft.com/screenshot/screenshot5.html

i think this will do the job 95%. take a look and see what you think. whilst its not a 100% fix, at least its a good step in the right direction.

Yeah, that will definitely work. All you have to do is take the screenshot, and (if you installed the HotSync conduit and desktop app) it will automatically drop a .JPG of the page in your chosen folder on your PC during Hotsync.
