| Backup saved me: Now a request A fatal alert and a reset prompt from WordSmith caused a hard reset, not a soft reset and my NX-70 promptly went back to its original state. Luckily I had both hotsynched and backed up to MS recently.
Now I'm looking for a backup program that will backup at scheduled times unattended. Working while the machine is protected with TealLock would be a help. Any suggestions? |

| I'm not sure if it will work with TealLock, but I use BackupBuddyVFS made by Blue Nomad to backup my morning at 5am every morning. |

| Have you had any conflicts with it? The website says OS 5.0 is not supported. |

You should also have rolling multiple backups, plus make rolling backup copies of the memory stick to the hard drive. Automatic backups are not always the answer, as it can get contaminated too.

| OK. I just downloaded the program for a 30 free trial. Thanks for the input. I knew about BB, just didn't know if it was compatible. Interesting that the program that pushed me to check this out was another Blue Nomad program's crash! |

| Well I don't know, but I have experienced problems with BB..
I spoke to Blue Nomad and they told me that its a hit or miss...
They have heard of people having success with BB, and some not.
I personally require a bit more confidence than that so I have been testing Backup
Man.
It is written to work with OS5...
I have not experienced any problems with Backup Man, and now own both BB, and
Backup Man.
I have been waited and waited for a BB for OS5, or at least a message that it is
compatible, but nothing so I well I must change after being a BB registered user of
years...
Sorry Blue Nomad but try to keep up with the technology curve a bit more.

Yep, I have both. I've tested BackupBuddy VFS and it will backup in the background with TealLock protecting the device. I'll continue to play with it ... I've got 30 days. |

| I've now installed BackupBuddy VFS and Backupman. Both will operate in the background with unattended backups even with TealLock engaged. This is good! I have encountered some difficulties scrolling lists within BackupBuddy VFS, but that is a noted flaw with OS 5.0 and BB VFS (as noted in another thread). Backupman allows you to specify the number of rolling backups. |

| I've had my NX crash on me about 10 times since I've owned it. (Mostly from testing apps). Anyway, it now takes me about 15 minutes to get it back to normal, and I have it maxed out. I only use BackupBuddy for Windows. Not the VFS version, since I've noticed certain database files and preference files don't back up. I've been using the BackupBuddy desktop application for almost three years now and never had any problems. I highly recommend it. |
