| I would have bet money that you were going to ask that!!!!!
Simple. Don't do it on the Clie! Do it on your Desktop.
I downloaded the Sony Clie Palm OS 5 Simulator from the Sony Development site. This is NOT the standard Pam OS 5 Simulator, but the NX series simulator. It can be found at this location: http://www.us.sonypdadev.com/develo.../simulator.html
Read what you want and scroll to the bottom and click on "Agree" to download it.
Just unzip the file into a directory of your choice and execute the simulator. When prompted for the ROM, just navigate to the "enUS" directory and select it.
Once running, it's just a matter of dragging and dropping a .prc or .pdb file onto the running simulator to install.
Execute the WonderSilk program normally and activate it with the Silk Plug-in screen.
Finally, I use the program "HardCopy" from www.hardcopy.de. It has a nice option of allowing you to screen capture a user-defined "rectangle" of the screen and save it to a file.
Save the resulting file, and you are good to go!
Good luck!

Thanks!

It's japanese, downloads are on the right.
There is an app and a DA, install both, goto the app and set it up to write to your MS. There is a setting on the quality of BMPs to write. Call your favorite DA launcher and call HRCAPDA.. go back to the app to preview it.. |

| Ah, I finally made the skin I want . I love the blue number buttons... figured them out with that english translation of the functions. Smoothed the edges of the graphics some and antialiased them and they look great! Took me awhile, though... your link was broken to the .prc of the skin that you had zipped, so I had to do it from scratch with nothing to compare to . |

Why don't you post a pic of what you created.
I would be interested in seeing it.

| You can get an English version of HRCaptDA in a Zip file at Brian Spradlin's site ( www.launchplug.com). I highly recommend it for screenshots. |

Thanks!

| Thanks to everybody for getting us all of the details. This is a great addition to the NX70. It would be great if there was a wondersilk addition to the silkskin files section so we can all share.
I love the WSilkENGTest skin. |

| Okay. I love the WsilkTaPad, but I can't figure out why my app button assignments aren't sticking. I'm getting the 'Save App Info!' note, and I do it twice for each one, but when I try it again later, just going through all the apps, the red book & handstory and world icons don't stick. What am I doing wrong? Other than that, the skin is AMAZING!! Thanks for your help! Thanks jbarr for the heads up, and all the rest of you for tinkering so wonderfully!

| And I forgot to mention, I think my favorite thing about this app is the ability to change the 'pen' color in the graffiti area! Too Cool!

If you cannot stick your original icon button on WonderMaler, the icon image is probably wrong.
According to the author memo of Wondermaker, icon button images should be as follows.
- image file is .bmp
- max size is 320x130
- button image should have two buttons, top for normal, bottom for pen down (i.e. 40x30 button should be 40x60 image)
- non transparent icon(squares) has even number pixels in height
- transparent icon should have one pixel horizontal line in the bottom of image so that it becomes odd number pixels in height (i.e. 40x20 button should be 40x61 image)
- background color of transparent icon should be the same color as bottom line of the image
Good luck!luckl |

| I think that one point to note is that the "skin" defines that buttons can be defined but they must ultimatly be associated wiith apps from within the WonderSilk app, itself.
OK, that probably didn't make sense. What I mean is that once you load a skin that has buttons defined to launch apps, you still need to go into the WonderSilk app and set the associations.
To do this, you launch the WonderSilk app, open the Menu and tap on the third choice. It's the one labeled "f o/oo f..."This opens a window. From here, you select one of the bottons and an app picker pops up. Select the app you want to associate. Do this for as many definable buttons that are on the skin.
For example, the skin I created (WSilkTaPad) has 8 buttons over on the right. The top one is the Voice Recorder button, the next is the Movie Player button, etc.
Voice Recorder Icon: Button 1
Movie Player icon: Button 2
Movie Player icon: Button 3
Audio Player icon: Button 4
Calc Button: NOTE: This button is defined as the "Calc" Silk screen button. What this means is that whatever you have associated with the "Calc" button in the System Preferences is the app that will launch here. This is NOT a user-definable button. Sorry if this is confusing.
"Book" icon: Button 5
HandStory icon: Button 6
Globe icon: Button 7
So, you just associate whatever apps you want with each of these buttons.
This was just a proof of concept (and a damn fine one if I can toot my own horn) so the icons could really be anything you want. I was thinking of trying to use "generic" icons, or maybe just associate them with the internal Clie apps.
In any case, I hope you "get it" now how to define these buttons.
Oh, and just so you know, once they are defined in the WonderSilk app, they "stay" defined until you re-define them. So if you change your Silk PlugIn back to the Standard Input and then back to WonderSilk, nothing is lost.
Further, if you load in another "skin" the definitions remain. This could get confusing, but hey, this is so cool. who cares, right?!?
