#1 | | Guest | Watching movies and videos? I have tried kinoma, Tealmovie, and MMPlayer, but am still unable to watch videos or movie clips. On Kinoma i can see the video but there is no sound, do i need to purchase the kinoma producer to hear sound. Is there free software out there to see and hear videos. I downloaded some clips from nicolay(I think that's the site?). Please help. Also i downloaded some music videos, do i need to convert them to another form to watch them also?

| for Kinoma, you need Producer: It is not free.
on ncoday downloads, they need to be named with the specifics of MOV00001.MQV, MOV00002.MQV etc.

| What PDA do you have? The TJ25/27 does not support audio.

| If you have TJ which supports audio (TJ35/ 37), then just get Kinoma Player from TJ37 CD (comes w/ Sony MQV libraries, you can find d/l link if you search here). Then you can use ImageConverter to convert videos to MQV format and play in TJ. It is the best solution. |

Sounds good! I will search for, download and install the files as you suggested.

| The search for a video player continues... Thanks for the information trudi, it looks like everyone has a favorite video player, I may have to "test-drive" a few to see what works best for me.
By the way, has anyone tried the TealMovie program? If so with what results?
Thanks again!

| I would use mmplayer, the developer is extremely friendly and helpful. You should purchase it though. Back in March or so me and him worked out almost all the bugs with the tj35 so I don't know what your problem is, except that maybe your bitrate was to high for the movies you're playing.
I don't believe tealmovie will work... of it does I wasn't impressed, I honestly don't remember anymore (I moved to the bush for two months and when I got back haven't really been using my clie) but I remember deciding it wasn't worth my time. Kinoma isn't really either because of the file size. You can get equivalent video quality from mmplayer with about a quarter of the size.
If you need any more advice I see what I can do to help you get it working, once I can get files back on my clie. Maybe the newest version has some problems that I don't know about. If that's the case I would try finding 2.12 because I'm pretty sure that works fine. |

| I tried free movie players and I finally gave up and bought MMPlayer. I've never looked back since. |
