#1 | | Guest | Video sample sound? Just bought a new SJ22... replacing my old PalmVx.
Can anyone tell me, I installed the 2 sample clips of the island and dolphins from the CD to Konami player.
Is there sound to these clips? Cause I hear absolutely nothing!!
Is this the same with any MPEG?
I sure hope the SJ22 can play some sound with clips!!
Thanks | |

| You should have some audio.
Backup your stuff and try a soft reset.
I lost sound using Kinoma occasionally on my SJ33, and a soft reset fixed it.
I haven't had that problem since I installed the latest version.
(Check out the Videos topic here at ClieSource for threads/links to cool kinoma stuff.)

| Remember that the SJ22 does not have a polyphonic speaker like the SJ33 does...
When you say Konami, I assume you mean Kinoma?
In converting for the SJ20/22/30 (not 33), make sure you choose the sound format ADPCM. Despite the name, don't select "Clie Audio."

| Thanks both, I'll try a soft reset.
I haven't converted anything yet (have to buy the full version right?)
Just trying out the sample clip from the CD. I'm assuming that has sound right? Can someone please try it out? |

The clip on the CD may or may not have been converted with ADPCM sound. If after a soft-reset you have no sound, that's probably the case. The trial version of Kinoma producer allows you to convert short clips. You could try that out.
If you could send the movie to me, I could try it out for you on the SJ20.

| Sure thing, but how do I get the movie out of the CD?
Can I just find it on Windows Explorer inside the CD itself? |

| It might be, but you may have better luck looking for it on your computer because the file on the CD may be in a compressed file (or, if it isn't then sure, Windows Explorer would work fine) I'm not sure what the file is called or where it would be because I do not have an SJ22, but the file would most likely have a *.pdb extension.
