| [OT?] WiFi, LinkySys and MSN/Quest DSL and UX50. I've been trying to figure this out for weeks now, but I keep giving up cause it ain't working. Haven't thought to ask here...
I have an Arescom NetDSL 800 MSN/Quest DSL modem/router. Everything I've read says they are junk, and, ok, I agree, but it's all I got right now.
Anyone here able to hook up a LinkSys WAP without any problems? I tried very hard to get the WAP working, but never got it to give my UX50 an ip address. I can configure the LinkSys so that everything looks great, but it won't do it's job and give my UX50 an address. It keeps givingng me the "Retrying:" message. The WiFi meter lights up real well on the UX, but it just hangs. No address for my UX.
So, if anyone here has a similar setup, AND IT WORKS, I would love to hear all about it.

| I have the identical setup and it works, but I'm darned if I know why. The manual makes the process sound more complicated than it turned out to be. Under Network in Prefs, I select Wireless LAN as my service. Under details, when I tap Scan the Clie looks around a bit and locks onto LinkSys, knows the settings without being told, and connects at a tap. A little eerie--but easy. Now if I could just get e-mail. . . . |

| nmairs,
how is your linksys hooked up? do you have a switch, or a hub, or a network card, or are you coming right off the netdsl800?
thanks.
