Hi all, I've went through an ordeal of trying to find the Sony desktop software online, and couldn't find it anywhere, as the Sony updates don't work on the palm desktop offered by Palm.com so In my mad search for the files Bobenis was kind enough to send it to me! joesiv Registered User Join Date: Nov 2003 Location: Canada Posts: 29	np, btw, I'm still having issues installing Palm programs (cuz it won't sync) I have an SL-20 with Palm desktop (for clie, the one linked) installed, and patched with Sony's PDT401-PATCH.exe, but it won't show up in "my computer" and won't allow me to install programs. Am I missing something? this "syncing" Does it only have to do with syncing like e-mails and stuff, or does it entail all communication between palm and your desktop machine? all I wanna do is install software on my Palm 4.1 OS anyone know what I should do? Do i need to install Microsoft Active Sync 3.7.1? or something? -joesiv

joesiv Registered User Join Date: Nov 2003 Location: Canada Posts: 29	Whoo hoo, I got it! with the figuring out of the "active sync" button on the clie... and then finally getting the USB working (having to find a dll and sys, since it didn't install properly) it's finally working! Sweet! btw the files I needed were: PalmUSBD.sys and PalmDevC.dll if anyone wanted to know. all is good now, I'll host that install file for as long as I can. As for the ISO, Mixel mentioned that it might be a bad idea because this would make it easier for the people stealing Clie's... which I think would be bad.. however I also feel for those people that lose thier CD's (or didn't get one as I didn't)... so I'm going to hold off on supplying the ISO for download for now... tell me what you all think.. -joesiv

joesiv Registered User Join Date: Nov 2003 Location: Canada Posts: 29	Spork, if your regular Palm desktop works, I'd say stick with it, but i"m a noob, all I know is that for the SL-20 (what I have) the regular Palm desktop wouldn't work with it! only the one offered by Sony would work. So I wouldn't worry too much Spork, if it's working, don't fix it -joesiv

There is also an alarm patch for Palm Desktop for Clie. __________________ My Sony is a NX80, if I fail to mention it in my posts related to performance or compatibility issues.
