| There are quite a few places online that sell the UX50 for $500 - $560, and some without a rebate. Most offer free shipping also.

| True, some online are selling for <$500. But I've also read tons of ppl complaining about getting a dud right out of the box. Then the company says "Send it to Sony, we do NOT do refunds or exchanges on dead units".
They had a big hassel in doing that. So a little safer to do it at a store I think.
Although, I think I can hold on to my lil PalmVx until OS6 UX-..... comes out !! |

| Most online stores have an exchange policy, and most will exchange for the same system. Just make sure and read the stores policy.

| Better still, also look at a place like resellerratings.com and see what other people have had by way of DOA/return/refund experience. But be objective...sometimes people write before they "counted to 10" and cooled off a bit - really. Not that someone with a botched transaction wouldn't necessarily have a right to rant until they were blue in the face, but as a merchant I can tell you that there are almost always two sides to the same story, and many times when there is a customer "problem" it's that the customer didn't read all the information they should have before making a purchase. (seriously)
SonyRules: the company doesn't necessarily say "send it to sony"...Sony says that, in a big red sticker on the inside flap of the box. Or do not all UX' say that? (mine does and at least one other person I've heard from). |

| It is printed on all UX50's, but you are misinterpreting it. It probably is a translation problem. What it really says is "Ignore us, we are idiots, take it back and get one that works now!!" |

| What it really says is buy your UX-50 from Dell. I did, and although I haven't had a problem, Dell isn't some fly-by-night outfit. I paid $580 and shipping was free.
That's my story and I'm stickin' to it.
