email + attachments - serious help needed

One of the main uses for my UX-50 is email (wifi) and I am confused regarding my current apps. Im hoping someone could suggest alternatives that could add some functionality.

1. Snappermail
This seems like the best app for me, as I am using POP email. Unfortunately, as I receive a large amount of email, it quickly clogs up my internal memory (IM). Is there a way, or an app, to let incoming emails go into MS? Even Cliemail stores incoming mail to the IM. Idea result here is being able to store at least a few days (100mb) of emails on the UX, and obviously that would require MS storage.

While snappermail allows you to save attachments to the MS, this is not exactly the most convenient, as the memory is full before you can even download emails and then select each email and move the file over!

Any thoughts/suggestions on this? Im am really suprised that no email app can run from MS?

2. Word / Excel / PDF Attachments
I would like to be able to open attachments directly from Snappermail. Currently, I am saving the file to MS, opening Picselviewer, browsing for the file (it doesnt let you sort by date, which is incredible if you receive a large number of long-file-name, and similarly named files) - and opening. Its a horrible solution.

I obviously need either docs2go or quickoffice. What I would like to avoid is having to install ANY apps on my desktops/laptops. Is there an app (or a way of installing the above apps) - where I can just workwith PRC's?

Any help on the above issues would be very much appreciated!

Quickoffice integrates with SnapperMail, so you can open attachments directly. Of course, that's another $40 on top of the $40 for Snappermail.

Compared to Docs to Go though, that's a bargain! I have just been playing with Docs to Go and I downloaded Inbox to Go, only to realize that it doesn't SEND mail! Dataviz charges $50 for their email program called Inbox To Go Wireless.

This is all bumming me out. $80 - $100 for an office suite just so I can edit my freakin documents and email them to people - something I could do for free on a PPC.

Thanks for the reply. Any idea how I can install quickoffice without installing any apps on my desktop?

Sorry. No. I don't think it's possible. I mean, you can install quickoffice just the PRCs (without the desktop conduit, I think) but you can't do it without the .exe self-extractor, AFAIK.

You could also set snappermail to only get parts of messages, say 10k. Then, for any that have attachments that you want to see, you could check the box in the message that says 'tap to get more/all'. This is a bit of a kludge since it turns mail into a 2 step process, but at least your memory wont overflow before you have a chance to see what's in your inbox.

Email the developer of snappermail. From what I've heard he's very responsive, maybe it's something that could go into a future release as more Palm devices have VFS'.
