Anyone know of a screenshot app that will include the VG and Status bar area on OS5?

I have been making some skins for the VG area and would like to show an acurate screenshot thats actually from my clie when I upload my latest suites to the download section. Id prefer not to just "doctor" one up in photoshop though.

Everything Ive tried either doesnt work with OS5, or leaves a big white spot where the VG and status bar should be.


Also, anyone know how to make the SB skins for the NX models? I downloaded the Black Status skin and it works. In PRCedit, its all binary though. Someone must have figured it out to make that one though.

I understand that hacks dont work on the OS5 models. Does this mean that all my TapPad skins are useless to me now? Anyone know if its gonna be possible to use some of the old hacks with OS5 eventually? i.e. there just arent any compatible hacks yet ?

Ive been reading in this forum only since i got my NX about 2 weeks ago... All you ppl rock as far as im concerned...

Anyway, Google search for NXSkinGen program which I think the easiest tool to make VG and SB skins for NX.

So, I used it to finish my best skin set yet.

Ive got a background, VG, and SB that all go together. I want to post it to the downloads section, but im unsure if its acceptable. The problem is, it kinda has Virtual Boobies in it.

Dont get me wrong, its not really porn. Its completely computer generated, but i wanted to get some official answers to "Is it okay?"

Ill try to attach a screenshot here and then someone can let me know if i should go ahead and upload it.

Is there any type of thread about using NXGen for the first time? I have no idea where to begin. Thanks!

If this NXGen is so easy to use and some people are producing virtual graffiti skins and status bar skins then why hasen't there been alot of skins and status bar skins available?? What is it with the "source code needed from sony" to produce these skins!! Why hasen't Skin Manager been updated. If there is this software you would think the skins and such would be easy to make. Maybe I am in the dark and I apologize.

Im gonna post a PSD file with all the areas masked out (as well as guides) for producing VG skins as well as SB skins with NXskinGen

It can also be used with any kind of PRC editor to make the VG skins, but now I think NXskinGen is a LOT better than any manual editor.

So anyway, when I upload it, possibly tonight or tomorrow depending on how soon my beer puts me to sleep, Ill include a quick Tutorial in using NXskinGen.

Im still kindof a newbie at this so it wont be great. But I think it will help.

Any opinions on the image I posted?

Is it acceptable to have stuff like that in the downloads area, and/or do you like the skin?

Im rather proud of it. I designed it for YiShow, but today I got Zlauncher and I love it. Looks a lot better in Zlauncher too.

Now I can make VG skins. I just need help with SB skins, as in a template PSD and PRC. If I heard correctly from above, such things are being set up soon?

Okay,

I uploaded the skin files to the Status Bar, and VG areas of the download section. Both files include the background if your launcher supports such things.

Not sure how long my server was down for, but its back up now.
