Talking a newbs first problem>

my handheld says "HotSync operation was teminated. Some of your data was not backed up.

An application on the PC failed to respond to a confirmation query. This application may need to be restarted.

the log on my desktop says:

try , unplug, re plug in,

if it dont work, exit hs manager, reopen

if that dont work, soft reset

if that dont work, back up ur data to ms and hard reset

i have to get this to hot sync. it says some of my data was not backed up. an application failsed to respond to a notification query.

i had this happen before, the problem was with the computer on the clie. try reinstalling the palm desktop

1'st, Do a soft reset on the PDA, A soft reset loses no data. Simply unscrew the top of the stylus, and push it into the reset hole in the back of the unit.
Attemt to hotsync.

2'nd, If that didnt work, unplug the hotsync cable/cradle and plug it in a different USB port. Attemt to hotsync. If it still dosent work, try all your different USB ports.

3'rd Reboot your PC.

4'th, Still not working? Back up your data in your preferred way.

If you have never done a ms backup before, heres how.
1. "Find MS Backup" in the launcher.
2.Enter MS backup.
3.Tap the first line in the box,(self explanitory if you are looking at the app) so it is black.
4.Hit the backup button below.
5.Tap yes.

DO NOT DO THIS WITHOUT A BACKUP! Do the same as a soft reset, exept right before you push the top of the stylus in the hole, hold down the power slider. It will ask to erase all data, push the up button.
Attept to hotsync after you have finished this last step (its called a hard reset.)

Still not working? Reinstall your palm desktop.

THIS HAPPENED TO ME!!!!!!!!!

ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS...............

Make sure you have the USB drivers loaded correctly on your PC.
Just Backup all your files from the BAckup folder in the Sony Handheld Folder then unstall PD and reinstall PD along with the drivers.

Happened to me and it seemed that it was a trial program that had expired and had not been deleted. I deleted and, Bob's your uncle it started sync'ing again.
