Forced Low Res on SJ30

Anyone know of any apps / utilities that can provide selective forced low res for other programs, sort of like the reverse of Hires setting on the Pref control?

Reason I am asking is because I prefer to run some apps / games (ones that do their own resolution detection and does not provide separate low / hi res versions) in low res mode because of speed (overclocking does not help) and aesthetic (yes! some apps look better in low res!).

In your Prefs application, select "HiRes Assist" and then select "Enable HiRes..." and then disable HiRes for the apps you want to run in LowRes.

Actually by disabling HiRes Assist, you are leaving the resolution setting to the application's own resolution detection routine.

Example, HandyShopper will still run in HiRes if you disable HiRes Assist for it.

Ah, I understand now-- you want "LowRes Assist" in the Prefs.

Someone mentioned SwitchDash in one of these forums. I think that might work for you.

Sure, no problem. And you *can* probably read the web page, unlike me! I had to stumble along and *hope* I was downloading the right thing. Ha!

Well I managed to read some of the Chinese characters on the web page - rest of the Kanji are Greek to me

Alas, SwitchDash wasn't meant to be - I tried it with HandyShopper (which I believe has both hires and lowres version build into one prc) and it doesn't seem to work...

Thanks anyway

Sorry... I'll keep my eyes open for something else which might work for you.
