| Help? Can u use CF mem cards in NX70V?
I am trying to use Compact Flash Media type in my NX70V, but the unit does not recognize any memory on the card. I though it might be my unit, but I went to BestBuy and they were also unable to us CF on their NX70V, but the NX80V at the store was able. Why do the NX70V models not recognize Compact Flash memory? Is there something I need to do to allow this? Does the NX70V just only able to use a CF LAN card in that slot? If so, why can the NX80V read the CF memory and the NX70V can’t?
Thanks for your help,

| The NX70 does NOT (out of the box) allow the use of CF memory cards, while the NX73 and NX80 do. The reason is that Sony added support for this in the 73/80, which were released after the 70. Make sense?
You can, however, use CF memory cards in the NX70 with a few tricks. I'd suggest that you take a look at the first message in the Compact Flash forum. It's long, but you'll learn a lot and will be able to see the range of choices you have. |

| You need the "patches" for the CF slot to using the cf slot in the first place. there are also UX apps you can get to be able to use the cf slot for music/movie.
Read up more about this in the Compact Flash forum.

| Those forums really help out big time. I was told in other forums that the NX-70 does not use CF. I found out here that it is possible. Then they said "yeah you can use cf but not the microdrive". Since microdrive'sare so cheap I still bought one and continued to study these forums. I got MP3's and movies playing from a microdrive.

| yes, of course you can use CF in NX70V, I've been doing that for the last 6 months.
Though there are minor limitations, such as not able to recording directly to CF (least for the NX70). All other functions are working like wonders.
MoviePlayer/ AudioPlayer plays from both CF/MS.
Just check out some of the threads in the CompactFlash forum, all the necessary drivers or patches are located there, burried somewhere.

| In any case if you guys would be interested, there's also a new ImageConverter v1.1 burried somewhere in *.rar format, I forgot the actual link.
The new ImageConverter v1.1 allows you to convert movies to playback on MoviePlayer with up to 2 hours in movie lenght.
