| Audio Player rootsystem Does anybody knows why the audio player isn't playing anything
beside files in that directory?: L:PALMPROGRAMSMSAUDIO\
when i make sub folders and put mp3's in it, the player won't play them..
VBR MP3's aren't working neither.
does anybody know why?
it's really hard for me to organize without this feature.

| That's the way it was written. The AudioPlayer isn't exactly the best program out there. However, it is the ONLY real choice for Clies.
I have heard that there are a few programs out there which allow you to do some extra organizing. However, I personally have never used any of them. One possibility (again, I haven't tried it) is at http://www.aibohack.com/clie/albumswap.htm. |

| There's a cool gadget that does mp3 albums called AlbumSwap
you can find it here: http://aibohack.com/clie/
It should allow you to use multiple folders. CliePet made this I think?
Myself, I don't bother as I keep my mp3s organised on the PC and just download what I feel like listening to at a given time.

#5 | | Guest | it's just ridiculous that sony build such a cheap software.
compared with any other cd-mp3 player or any other
simple mp3 player is an PDA with an 200Mhz CPU capable
to much more then the others.
this software is in my eyes just a waste of hardware! | |

| It works for me, sound quality is good, I'm happy. But each to his own I guess...
Feel free to write a better one <grin>

| It's still 100x better than the Windows Media Player that Microsoft puts on the Pocket PC. <Shudder>
Jerky video playback, horrible playlist support. It corrupted my SD card a few times. And it was the ONLY application that would cause regular lock-ups on my iPAQ. I think people assume all Pocket PC's have to be reset multiple times a day. I think it's just Pocket PC's that use WMP ... |

| Oh god. WMP is decidedly not for music.
Only pr0n.

| I have to disagree with you, rOb456. The newest version of WMP on my HP 2215 is outstanding, smooth and buttery. One thing I will say, my PPC has other players that are out there, such as pocketTV and pocket player. Pocket player is OUTSTANDING, it supports TONS of music formats, skins, great visualizations (screen saver like), great E.Q. features and more.
On older versions of WMP, you guys are right on, it sucked. |

i think the choice of players is bigger with ppc. it would be good for me if the OS distributor would not be microsoft. but it is and i care about tomorrow. i dont want that microsoft got the monopol in mobile devices as well - i will not make the smae misstake again... and hope others agree. |

| To tell you the truth, I don't really care who makes the software, I just like quality software. Now I will be the first to tell you M$ software tends to be bloated, and yes they do tend to screw up a good thing or take forever to fix someting broken, but, in this case I must stand up for the newest version of the PPC WMP (its not perfect, but its better than anything Sony or Palm have preinstalled).
Peace |

| considering how long it takes to load MP3s onto the Clie, it's hardly worth it. |

| Oh I don't know, nice fast USB writer tends to whip the data over to mem stick pretty briskly. It sure feels quicker than a CF card.

| Don't try to DataImport the files to the card for the CLIE. It WILL be painfully slow. If you plan on listening to a fair amount of music, buy a card reader that does both MemoryStick and CompactFlash. They copy the songs to the storage VERY fast. The USB2.0 models are even faster.
