Question

BTW, does anyone have the GigaPocket plug-in for UX? It is mentioned in the doc in CD, but the software does not exist in the CD.

BTW, I've found that the UX50 is "hard of hearing" and you must shout...

Earlier in this thread it was mentioned that the extension for movies in the MQ_ROOT folder tree is ".mqv". This seems to be slightly incorrect. The extension is ".MQV" (all caps). It seems that the UX50 Movie Player is case-sensitive and you must SHOUT the filename in all-caps.

I also found that if you rename the sample file from earlier in this tread so that its extension is .mov it will play in QuickTime 6, at least on my Mac. It was doing this renaming that I renamed it back with a lower case extension for download to the MS. The player refused to see the file until I hit on the idea that it might be case sensitive.

OK, I checked with SonyStyle and they have indeed changed the item number on the PEGA-VR100K. It is now PEGA-VR100KIT1 which includes a free carrying case on orders placed AFTER 10/21.

Because I'm all about cases and things like that I called and had my first order cancelled. I had to hop up and down a bit to get them to reissue my 25% discount code, but they finally gave in and gave me a new code. I have now placed a new order for the 'new' PEGA-VR100KIT1 with case and discount.

There is no expected ship date on my new order.

What number did you call to reach SonyStyle? I'd like to call them to change the method of shipping (and perhaps get the bag, but it sounds as if the price to pay could be a much longer wait for the PVR and I'm already too anxious to get mine).

Thanks in advance for the number!

GOOD NEWS FOR THOSE WITH EXPECTED OCT. 28 SHIP DATES!!

Per the previous post, I searched for a customer service number and hooked up with a VERY nice and helpful rep. (that I unfortunately got disconnected from toward the end of my call) located in Florida.

While there wasn't a way for them to change the shipping method of my order as hoped, she did find out that as of 3pm EDT Sony was expecting to receive the first shipment of the PEGA-VR100K's in tomorrow (Friday 10/24) and to begin shipping out orders as soon as Monday or Tuesday 10/27 or 10/28!

This is of couse subject to change, but as of this conversation, she expected all to go smoothly.

Also, the bags are a promotional item not manufactured by Sony, but bundled for a limited time. If I had pushed to cancel my order and reschedule it to try and include the bag (as the previous poster did), I assuredly would not have been in the first shipment as scheduled. Seeing as the VR100 is a new product, she didn't know how long before subsequent shipments might be arriving or once again become available. It could be a few days/week or it could be much longer? She simply had no way to tell. I'm too anxious to wait so I'll go with getting mine that much sooner.

I too would have really liked to get the bag, but since I don't see myself ever traveling with it, and I don't really need yet another bag in my collection (I too like cases and bags for my gear a great deal), I opted to stay in my present place in line and get mine that much sooner.

Good luck on the bag and getting yours quickly. The wait might not be to bad! The utility bag looks really nice too and she told me that it wouldn't be made available through SonyStyle either. Enjoy it!

P.S. She also added that the UX series has been doing VERY well with a great deal of positive feedback from their customers... It would seem that they have a huge success on their hands with this one! That means good things for future development in the line

I had a b*tch of a time finding the number for SonyStyle. Here you go 888-595-8246. I'll be interested to learn if the PEGA-VR100K without the case is shipping any earlier than with the case or if they have moved back the shipping date on all of them, which is what I suspect.

Thanks for the effort mate! Truly! The answer to your question is in my reply above yours

Sorry but it looks (from what I found out with the Sony rep) as if you're back at the end of the line. Perhaps it won't be too much of a wait...

Perhaps? (but you'll still have another cool gear bag and I won't).

I am a new user of the UX50 and have had some problems getting some video of Star Trek to play. Has anyone else had this problem. I was wondering if perhaps there is a limitation in the device or if I'm doing something wrong. Has anyone else had this problem. The episode is the one featuring the Tribbles. I did a search on the forums for the words UX50 and Tribbles but had no luck.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
