| The SystemUpdate Patch is very important! It solves one nasty bug, unexpected Hard Resets! The issue is with the powering of the MS and the timing of the reset. You think you are doing a soft reset and whamo! You just lost all the data that was in your Clie!!! After it happens a few times when you least expect it, you will install the update! If you intend to use the MS Pro stick or a CF card, then the MS Pro driver is mandatory. The WL100 driver is only necessary if you want WiFi. I hope that helps some??

| The rest of the updates are nothing earth shattering, unless you issues with certain apps. For example Clie Viewer can be replaced as a viewer by Acid Image!

| I've never had an unexpected hard reset, and I haven't installed the patch. Is this one just for Clies older than a certain date? I got mine last March.
Besides, if it ever DOES happen, I'm using Backupman, and I can always restore wherever I am. Pretty cool!

| I don't know. I got mine sometime last Oct./Nov. It was a very real issue. As I said once it happens a couple of times, then that user will know!
You may not have much on your unit, and I don't mean this as a slam either, but I have well over a 100+ apps with all the WiFi and CF drivers installed. When a hard reset would happen, it is a major chore to restore. Backupman and MS Backup both fall flat as they may not restore the drivers and that then has to be done manually. I say things to help others and try to prevent them from having grief, so hopefully they can enjoy their Clies more!
I live, eat, sleep Clie plus 40 years in electronics, so pardon me for sharing!

#15 | | Guest | certainly looks like n2ifp's typing fingers are still working fine.
Never thought of 52 as elderly.
