| PVR for Mac users at full 30 fps !! Hi
I've got a solution to the problem. Use TvEye, by pure co-incidence it encodes tv or video input to MPEG-1 Quicktime format on your Mac HD. Re-name the file to say MOV00001.MPG and put it onto a memory stick into folders: you need to create DCIM/101MSDCF on the stick. You can then play the file from MoviePlayer in perfect stereo on your UX!!!!!!
MPEG-1 files are big, they say 650Mb for 1 hour of video so you can use your Mac to record 1 hr 30 minutes of video at really high quality video onto a 1 GB MS Pro .I have compared it to Kimona and Image Converter and it's picture/sound quality is far far superior. Size of files are an issue so go get a 1 Mg MS Pro from ebay and enjoy.
Looks like us Mac users have a unique solution as TvEye is a Mac only product. It will record for as long as your Mac HD has space so none of the 9 minute limitations of most Windows Capture devices. Only limitation is that it is not a format converter as such, so you need to feed a RF or Video/Audio signal into the device which connects to your Mac through USB 1.1.
$199 US or £175 GBP it's a lot cheaper than the Sony PVR and no 15 fps limitations, it'll record at full 25 fps PAL or 29.97 NTSC .....
Enjoy, we Mac users are still ahead of the 'others'

| It's EyeTV acutally....
but how are you doing this? I tried several timees and can't get it to work. MoviePlayer will not recognize my MPG file. I've renamed it, but it never shows up on the list. |

| How Did I do it?
1. I used my Mac to put an additional folder on the MS called DCIM
2. Within the above folder I created a 2nd folder called 101MSDCF
3. I dragged the file which I renamed MOV00001.MPG into 2 above
Movie Player could see the file as MOV00001 and play it, by scrolling down to 'MPEG Movie format' within Movie Player.
Hope the above helps. |

| ok, here's what I had to do to get it to work.. First open up EyeTV and go to the window menu and choose EyeTV programs. Choose the program you want and click File, Save as Quicktime movie. Afetr you do that it should work. It would not work for me otherwise. |

| Why not just buy the new Sony TV recorder that records direct to Memory stick. Yes it's $100 more ( Although if you register your new Clie, you can get 25% off the price of it).
