| Experience with English UX50 Movie Player 3.1 in NX70 Hi,
Just a quick summary of my experience with using the English (North American) UX50's Movie Player 3.1 on my NX70. I am also running CliePet's 3-bit hacked CF driver and SonyMMUtilLib.prc.
Playback is a touch jerkier than the stock 3.0 player, especially when you rotate and maximize the picture. A more fatal flaw is the UI lockup problem that I observed with Movie Player 3.0 playback of high bitrate movies (standard quality, 15fps). Recall that I discovered reliable playback with movie playback from CF was to reduce the framerate from 15fps to 12fps.
Well, with Movie Player 3.1, even 12fps is too much.
(Recall that the UI lockup problem is that once you start playback, there is no way to interrupt. You can't press stop; the UI just doesn't respond. The only thing is a soft reset.)
So, it looks like Movie Player 3.1 isn't quite the complete answer, at least on my NX70. But it was nice to be able to select movies between cards without having to eject.

| I've only had problems with one video file using the new movieplayer. And even then the video would play but the clock wouldn't move. What I did was remove the CF card which would freeze the video, then press a button like home or stop, then put the CF back in and it would exit without a reset or crashing.

Dun use UX50 ''SonyMMUtilLib.prc'' to install at older NX70. This may cause instability when take out MS/CF when playback mp3. I also tested this version too. | |

But this version (UX) is working in NX70 (tested by Eddy). And the file which you can find in this forum is also from UX. But I can't hear anyone says it doesn't work. |

| I have found a bug with the UX50 ''SonyMMUtilLib.prc''. when I use audioplayer (UX english version) and select different songs one after the other the player locks up and I have to do a soft reset. this problem doesnt occur with the original NX-60 ''SonyMMUtilLib.prc" but then there are other problems like hissing sounds or noises sometimes during playback. I am not sure but this problem didnot occur with the japanese ux translated audioplayer but I seem to have lost that copy so i cant test again. can anyone mail me the translated jap ux translated audio player (tovarish@myiris.com) so i can test it again.
do others get similar problems.

| The MoviePlayer and MovieRecorder seem to place a very heavy demand on the Clie's resources. Sony sure went through a lot of trouble to make this difficult. Not everyone's Clie reacts in exactly the same way either. It's basically a crap shoot at best!
