Question Video from QuicktimePro

I have several Quicktime video's I would like to convert to run on the Clie.

What parameters (type, encoding, size, etc...) should I use in QuicktimePro (on a Mac) to export to a MPEG-4 format the Clie will play (including sound) ?

I've been able to download video's and run those and even convert a DvD (using DvDx) but I would like to create a QuicktimePro config.

Thanks in advance,

Roger

DIDN'T WORK...

To:Sonicboy

I placed the Dolphin.mpg right into the dir /DCIM/101MSDCF on the MS by mounting it on my Mac desktop with a MS Card reader. I made sure that the Clie Movie Player was set to look at the MS Stick and that format, and nothing shows up at all in the List. Ya know My dir is different then the one you wrote, mine is /101MSDCF - NOT - 100MSDCF. Is there another place I have to put it? I hope it can go on the MS and not internal. Any Ideas on this?

OK.. make a new folder called 101MSDCF and remame the movie file "MOV00001.MPG"

the 101MSDCF folder is where your photos from the clie go..

Smile

Very COOL! that did it, thank you so much. I do find it a bit strainge that the file has to be called "MOV00001.MPG" in order for this to work. I also found that because of this including evering else can't have the name changed internaly. I woul have thought there might be a way to do a rename of the file in the list. Well anyway, you got me much further then I had gotten by myself. THANK YOU AGAIN....

One other thing on this the movie looks a bit choppy very slight but there is a bit of chop to it. I think this is because of the Dolphin.mpg clip being a much different REZ from what the standard format REZ is, this something I have to play wih.

there is a shareware program that lets you name them whatever you want, but I would sooner rename a file than pay $10 (or whatever he is asking)

Question Got it to work, but is there a better way

I did manage to get it to do what I need to do, but it seems like there is an extra step.

I convert my source video (from a variety of sources) into VCD format using the toast VCD plug-in. This results in a MPEG-1 file. Then I take this file and transfer it to a PC and then a memory stick using Image Converter which takes the file to a MPEG-4 (Approximately 2MB per Minuet in Regular quality). It seems like I should be able to go directly from the source format to a UX-50 compatible MPEG-4 file using just Quicktime Pro bypassing Image Converter entirely. However I can't seem to get the settings right.

BTW - The screen and Sony CPU is pretty amazing. I mostly use Anime FanSubs off the Internet. If I expand the video to the maximum size and use regular quality I can still read the subtitles !!!
