| Microcenter: Half price on all iConcepts PDA accessories Microcenter is having a 3-day online-only sale. Its iConcepts PDA products are all half price. There are cradles (the Clie "All in One" cradle works fine with my SJ30, BTW, although it's advertised for the T-series), stylii, screen protectors, travel charges and cables. Anybody know if the "N series" stylii fit my SJ30? |

| The N series stylus does not fit. The SJ series uses T series accessories. |

Glad the cradle worked for you...I got a bad one, returned it, and the second one was just as bad...and by then the 14-day return timeframe expired and CompUSA wouldn't accept it back. Said go the manufacturer, who sent me to their "tech support" (which turned out to be a third-party provider who was baffled about why I called him), who sent me back to iConcepts where a receptionist said "send it back" but in a way that made me wonder whether I'd ever see it again. Plus, another friend (discovered this too late!) bought the same cradle and went through the same scenario (two units, both bad), but he got them back to CompUSA in time.
Life is short, so I wrote this one off to trying to pinch the wrong penny. Opened the cradle and cut the sync cable out, reassembled and now have a really nifty (but expensive) $30 Clie stand! Actually quite handy to hold it at an angle while working with it.
The problems with the units? Sync cable never worked reliably, and the screen flickered radically while plugged in to the charger, which an electronics-savvy friend told me would eventual harm either the internals or at least the battery.
But it does make a great stand...
Needless to say, they could give away the iConcepts and I wouldn't take one (although the stylii have no electronics, so mebbe...)

#6 | | Guest | gvtexas - Yikes! What handheld were you syncing with the cradle? I am syncing/charging an SJ30, and yes it does flicker, which it does not do when using the Sony cable. I read in another thread that this cradle is specifically intended for the T series, and also (IIRC) that Sony's own T series cradles have a very slightly different amperage than their SJ cradles. If I'm risking my handheld, better to know now and eat the $29 I paid than find out when my Clie dies. | |

Could be...the iConcepts package (mine at least) did list the SL/SJ series...but the specs on the adapter differed from the Sony adapter. I may look around and see if I can find an ac adapter with closer specs to the Sony and with the same plug as the iConcepts and see if it works (long shot).
My comments about it being bad for the unit are somewhat hearsay...as in, they came from friends more knowlegeable than I about these things, but by no means experts, so as they say, Your Mileage May Vary...
