NX70V (European Model) - Battery Life & Battery Memory, etc
Hi All,
I am thinking of buying the PEG NX70V PDA (European model), but before I do, I hope that someone out there can help put my mind at rest about a few things:-
1) How long does the battery last ... especially with this being such a media rich PDA?
2) Does the type of battery used suffer from memory issues associated with other types of rechargeable batteries through constant re-charging?
3) Will the unit use Compact Flash as opposed to the expensive Sony Memory Stick RAM? (and does the RAM stick out of the top of the unit instead of being neatly tucked away?)
4) How bulky is the unit? From the spec it seems to be quite hefty for a PDA. As I have not seen one, it is difficult to imagine the size/weight from statistics.
I know there are a lot of questions to answer ... but any help would be greatly appreciated !!!
I have to say I am in the UK the battery life is good I watched an hour of video on my NX70 yesterday and the charge went down to 70%. Video is intense. When it comes to documents and writing on the clie it lats far longer than the recommended amount. i.e 30mins each day for 10 days (I hope that is right). Mine seems to be much better than that.
Also listening to music can be done in the background so the clie screen is off and this will play for hours.
It does have a compact flash slot although I have never used one. I have a number of sony devices all using MS Pro. The cf slot is used for the WIFI card.
Are you happy with your NX70V? What do you primarily use it for? Is the unit too bulky/heavy to fit in your pocket?
You say that you are using Memory Stick Pro. Is the NX70 compatible 'out of the box' for this memory type (I have heard different rumors)? Does the extra memory stick out of the machine much i.e. is it prone to getting knocked?
I know there are a lot of questions .... but its a lot of money to part with if you are unsure !!!
