| First two attempts at using the PEGA-KB100 keyboard in your lap. I tried reinforcing the PEGA-KB100 keyboard so that I could use it in my lap without folding up.
1st attempt: I used several 3M command strip cord clips to hold a metal pointer to the underside of the keyboard. Pros- makes the keyboard as stiff as a board so I could type in my lap. Cons- when using it on a desktop, the weight of the NX80V tips the top of the keyboard down.
2nd attempt: I trimmed off a second set of the cord clips and placed it at the bottom of the keyboard. I trimmed it enough so that the keyboard can still close. However, there is not enough surface area to keep the cord clips attached on as firmly as I would like.
I have another idea which I think will work but I have to order some parts online first.
I will attach pictures. The first is a picture of the underside of the keyboard with the cord clip and pointer in place.

| Yes, it would have been real nice if it locked in the center.

| Here is a picture of the NX80V tipping over the keyboard because of its weight. I tried putting the cord clips as near the top of the keyboard as possible but it still tips over.

#4 | | Guest | Well it's tipping b/c the pen that makes it stay in one place is all the way at the top of the keyboard in the back. Why don't u do the same thing again but add it to the bottom as well (so you have 8 of those flappy things and like 2 metal holders)...that should work having equal weight on both sides AND keepign the keyboard from folding up in your lap.

| I think that would destroy the coolness of the kb already... is it in such a need that you have to type when you are on train or buses?

| Thanks for the suggestion, Matt. However, the NX80V is still too heavy. If I put something under the extension where the Clie sits, it works better, but it is annoying having to prop it up.
Anway, I have another plan and I will post pictures once I get it working. I will be away for 2 weeks in Switzerland on vacation so I will see if it works after that. |

| Yes Dropzone, I guess it would lessen the coolness factor some. However, I am just trying to recreate the functionality I had with my old Visor Deluxe and Landware keyboard. Yes the keyboard was bigger and not as cool looking. However, it was very durable and I was able to type with it in my lap while watching TV on the couch or have it on top of an uneven surfaces such as an open book and type with it while taking notes. Whatever attachments I put on, I am trying to keep the same white and silver color theme of the original keyboard if possible. I could never go back to the Visor Deluxe and Landware keyboard after using the NX80V, but I would like to recreate some of the functionality if possible. With my old Landware keyboard, the driver was also more flexible and I could change the repeat speed for holding down a key, but I am sure the Sony will not change their driver soon since there is not too much competition in the way of keyboards right now. |

| I added those clear plastic tabs myself. I have a tedency to rest my right hand on the right edge of the Clie and put pressure to the left as I write graffiti which I used to do with my Visor Deluxe. However, with the swivel screen, I tend to push the screen over to the left side. I was afraid I would break the swivel eventually since everyone says that is the most fragile part of the Clie so I put the tabs on myself so the screen does not move side to side. It gets in the way of using the keyboard but I never use the keyboard. |

#11 | | Guest | I actually keep my screen full size (no swivel action going on here), so then the top part gets rid of the glare from the lights in the room, and it looks much nicer; and i can type with no backlight on, if there is enough sunlight in the room.

| Try this... The reason your keyboard is tipping over is that you've introduced a fulcrum (the cord thingies).
Try something a lot flatter. For example, you might find a piece of very thin steel bar stock, about 1/2" wide by about 1/16" (or less) thick and attach it with the peel and stick refrigerator magnet backing.
