| NX80 Sync freezing? Anyone else running into NX80 sync freezing at various places? My NX70 never had this problem but the NX80 seems to hang at Addressbook, psys[forget the rest] etc...have to do a soft reset to get out of it..

| Hi Chris,
You have something that is corrupted and has nothing to do with the model. These PDA's are all too easy to have corrupted memory and everyone seems surprised when it does. If you want issues, try a PPC sometime...
I have no easy solution for you, usually it's resolved by either an uncontaminated backup or reinstall apps in a process of elimination.

| Mine has had that problem at times. It was really hard to narrow down for a while, but I disabled WorldMate sync and that's stopped it. Don't know if that was the entire cause, but I was getting a lot of resets/freezes at the end of hotsync when it says "cleaning up." |

| Had the same problem with my NX80. It suddenly started hanging when it got to backing up To do. I had to do a soft reset also. I couldn't get it to work so I had to do a hard reset. It worked fine again after that.
I was toying around with lots of apps for it before it went loco on me. I think it might be the bluetooth drivers for the tg50 i installed on it that caused the problem but I can't be sure.
All is well now....until the next software nightmare.... |

| Have you installed Mobipocket?
Because if you have, the program might be trying to download or sync in the background and it's waiting for your reply. Double click on the Mobipocket icon in your computer's status bar if this is the case. A window should come up and prompt you for something.
Just a suggestion because it's happened to me before. |

| No, no Mobipocket on this setup, and it happened before I put iSilo on there too. It's not consistant and the app it hangs on seems to change from time to time. I'll probably eventually just do a wipeout and reinstall everything eventually, but I'm still getting me base apps together, never really ends does it?

| mine usually hangs a lot when i synch with my windows2000 desktop (my office computer)... so much so that it has became too cumbersome to soft reset the device, and restart the hotsync manager... what did i do? i turned-off the "backup applications" in the hotsync manager, and it solved that problem...
well, i have backupman that automatically syncs twice-a-day, so i wouldnt worry 'bout apps (who usually loads new apps during every sync?)...
however, i dont seem to encounter this problem when i sycn with windowsxp comptuters (my notebook runs xp-home, while my home desktop runs xp-pro)...
does this have something to do with the computer's os? ** one more thing, most of my colleagues at work who also have the nx80v also experience the same problem when it comes to a windows2000 computer...
does anyone seem to have a plausible solution?
