Cool ux80 ??

Shortly after placing my pre order for the ux-50 I heard a rumors about the new ux-80 with a 2.0 mega pixel cam and faster processor, also with the ability to read the new memory sticks (obviously not released yet) that will be in 2, and5 Gb sizes. If you search google on ux80, you can find a couple of discussions regarding it but all in Japanese so I couldn’t make much out of them.

Does anyone know anything else about this model???

Blah blah blah.

Yes, the UX80 will be out shortly after the UX100 with 11MP camera an a rudder for steering.

If you're worried about a new UX80 version, then you should probably cancel your order since something new will be out around April of 2004.

I will buy now since it's a tax right-off for next year.

Yep, That's right - I just found a picture of the UX100 on the net, it's a real number cruncher. Look Here: http://www.korins.com/m/hye/tc/a5.htm

Talking

I hope that the UX50 will be upgradeable to rudder steering. I'm also hoping for a beutiful LED upgrade like the UX100 link provided by ScottG.

UX80? haha...the specs that you said you heard that were on the UX80 sound like it came from the BestBuy site .

When BB first put the UX40 and UX50 on their website, they claimed that it had a 2MP camera and a 400MHz CPU. They still say it's 400MHz, but they changed the specs on the camera

Look, don't even think about the "UX80" now. Keep your UX50, and you'll be as happy as can be.

A new UX80? You don't have the UX50 english version yet and now you are thinking on a "non existing UX80"...

I believe you must blame on Sony for this expectation, by releasing new gadgets every six months or less, that's the dark side of the consumer market ideology....

Come on, the NX70 doesn't have a year, and it's allready obsolete...

I'm on the waiting list for the UX100.

It's supposed to ship on or before September 12th, 2005.

What hooked me was the 3.1 digit display interface as per Scott's link. I wonder if it's transflective -- or one of those new "Organic LED" types...

Organic or not - don't know.

LED - Yes, I am sure it is LED.

Will the rudder be included with the unit or will we have to buya it separately? What about software? I currently own Rudder 1.0 - will I have to buy the upgrade or will the new Rudder be backwards compatable? What about future upgrades? Will we be able to run Rudder 3.0 on the UX100 or will Sony screw us again and not provide an upgrade path?
