Smile Just received my European NX73V with built-in bluetooth!

Just wanted to share my excitement!    Let me know if you have any questions or want me to test anything in particular.

Really big and really bright, kind of like a strobe light. Looks kinda cool though. Flashing when idle, solid(steady) when connected.

could you open the device and check whether the bluetooth is just a platine that could be plugged in (like into my nx80) ?

i personnaly find that big BT light annoying .. if flashing the clie then looks one of those "wanna-be-cool-kids-toys" ... I wish there was only the small light blinking, and actually I'm thinking which scotch tape to use in order to make the big blue light covered :-)

I had the same thought.

Actually, what I really want is someone to come up with a hack to switch the bluetooth LED and the power LED controls (a software hack that is; I would be too afraid to play around with the wiring to do it).  Right now the LED alarm (same as the power LED) is too small to notice even when flashing, and the bluetooth LED is huge and too noticable, especially since whenever it is enabled (will be always for me) the whole huge blue light blinks, and draws everyone's attention to it.  That's the correct behavior for an alarm, not for a status light!  Does anyone know if there are software/OS hooks that can control the power LED and bluetooth enabled lights?  I would pay good money for such a hack!

If you look at it from the top, it's about 0.4" wide by 0.8" deep/long.  If you look from directly in front you can only see maybe 0.2" of that 0.8" length.  It's not so much the size that bothers me (it actually looks pretty cool when constantly lit up blue), it's the blinking whenever bluetooth is active but the device isn't connected.  It is WAY too noticeable, and looks like it's some urgent alarm going off...

You can get it at microwarehouse UK -- you have to call them and ask to speak to their export department. But it's not cheap!

Well I have had the Euro NX73 since more than a month and it's great, but you are right the blue light is too attentional, it does not bother me but my friends always tease me...
Would be great for alarms, but I am afraid it a neach request.
I used to switch it off with BT Toggle but I found out it interpheres with the right functioning of email autocheck (both Snapper and Versamail) so I removed it and now I stay with the light on (even if I often use WIFI instead of BT)

So, when driving in the car with BT GPS I need to cover the BT light, otherwise I can run into the police and I can get a ticket for having a blue cop light in the car (illegal in Holland)? They prolly want to search for a siren, too.
