| IM apps! Which do you use? Hi;
Just added a Wifi router and now am looking for an IM app to use with my NX70V.
Also, if my cable modem is connected to the PC via USB with the router connected via cat 5 to the cable modem, can anyone get into the PC files if there is no firewall or encription?
Thanks, Jay |

| I recommend a free aim download from www.aol.co.uk
This British AOL website has aim for Palm available for free, and I havne't seen it free elswhere... Word of advice, don't run the program off the card. 1/2 the time you'll eventually start getting fatal errors. Keep aim in internal memory, and you'll love it.

| I'm not a big user of IM on my NX70V... but I've played with several packages and found Verichat to easily be the best.

| I use Verichat from PdaApps and its great! It's a unified IM that works flawlessly and worth the investment IMO...

| I used AIM for Palm OS for a while, and it works fine, but it's limited. My biggest problem with it is that you can't see away icons for those people who are online but away. The upshot is that you IM them when they're gone, then they come back and wonder why this idiot IMed them. (Didn't he notice my away icon.)
Verichat is much better. It combines AIM, Yahoo and MSN into one unified buddy list and IM app. It is hi-res and shows away icons.

| I use AIM and was thinking of switching to verichat, but since Microsoft is going to cut off access by third party programs like Trillian, I think I'm going to wait and see whether verichat will still be able to connect to MS messenger...
here's the article on the MS freeze-out: http://news.com.com/2100-1032_3-5066412.html |

imadrin:
So what do you mean multitask? Obviously, listening to mp3 with background enabled. I understand that. Are you telling me that once online you can browse and IM at the same time?
Thanks, Jay

| On your second question, probably. Make sure file sharing is turned off. Test your PC at www.grc.com "shields up" utility. |
