doesn't matter much anymore, i were already tired of my stone age computer, so it was just the catalyst to make me buy the new computer faster,

uninstall palmdesktop and intelisync lite.. then search for hotsync.exe and delete it.. also do a search for user*.dat find the ones that have a path leading to palm, sony handheld, and anything that has sync or hotsync in it ... Becarefull do not delete any windows user.dat files will trash your system!! then reboot pc and reinstall sony desktop should work
That shouldn't have helped much for atleast me, i didn't have anything even remotely related to any pda's installed before, so i guess the problem is not dependant on uninstalling those products

if you had msworks quicken quick books and about 20 other programs out there that has palm hotsync software embedded in to it you will find either or both hotsync.exe or user*.dat. I have done this a number of times on a number of pc and works every time. you really don't know untill you try it will you??
I didn't have any of those installed, and i didn't have any former versions of PDA software installed, actually the only thing i had installed then was just a couple of games and windows 98 itself
