Been playing Bejeweled 2 for a few weeks and love it. Some questions for the math geeks out there:
1. Is the initial state of the board random for each level?
2. Are the new jewels that drop down randomly assigned?
3. If these two conditions are true, why does Bejeweled get harder with each successive level?
4. If you were a perfect player, could a game of Bejeweled last forever, or is it a finite process?
I would like to read some math books to help me understand Bejeweled, and I have started looking at Markov processes. Is this the place to begin, or do you have some recommendations?
