Question Any other NX hardware related failures??

I recently dropped my nx70 about 5' down onto concrete (whimper...) while in tablet mode, screen side down (of course) and ruined the LCD.    I've been looking for days on Clie Source, e-bay, etc. for a replacement LCD.  I found the manufacturer (ST Liquid Crystal Displays) but it seems they have no website, and are probably not interested in selling 1 measly LCD panel to me anyway.  However, it seems that for the most part the rest of the NX hardware is rock-solid. Otherwise there would be more people with broken NX's out there willing to sell me a Clie with a broken motherboard and a good LCD screen.

I've already disected the unit and I'm nearly positive that I only need to replace the LCD panel based on the fact that several of the traces on the LCD were literally smashed from the shock of hitting concrete, but I can connect and sync with my PC still.  Everything that I can do (without the screen of course) is still working.

So here are the questions:

1.  Has anyone here ever had any type of major hardware problem, other than with the screen of an NX series device?

2. Does anyone have any idea where I might be able to purchase the NX 70 LCD  (STLCD model #: ACX503AKZ-2), either new or used?

3.  I'm probably opening myself up for some "shame on you" types of replies, but, any other comments?

I have to say that the NX has been a great unit, and I've become very attached to it!  Hopefully someone will be able to shed some light (pardon the pun on my LCD situation, if not I guess I'll be listing yet another one of those  "PDA for parts" adds in e-bay!  Hey, if all else fails I can use it as a MS reader!

Keep looking on ebay.
I have seen LCD's for NX units on sale there.
Its all about timing.

Thanks, I'll keep checking e-bay and clie source.  I noticed that gethightech.com dosen't have anything for the NX series either...

Question

If I'm looking for a new LCD panel (not the entire screen), does anyone know if the lcd panel on the NX70 is the same one that was used on the NR70?

I may have to resort to buying a junker NR70 on e-bay just to replace my screen.

Otherwise I'll be trying to sell a NX70 without a screen on e-bay!  Dang!

Here is the company who Sony and Toyota has a joint venture with to manufacture 'super twist' LCD screens.

I suspect that they will only supply components to Sony or Toyota.
