| T-615C crashes I've had a Clie T-615C for about a year and a half now (having transitioned to it from an old Palm). I was a happy user of the T-615C until a month ago when it started crashing on me. I would have the Clie in my pocket, and when I take it out to use it - I'd notice that it has crashed. Some times I can get out of it by a soft reset. Most times, it would require a hard reset causing all the data to be lost. I also noticed (perhaps incorrectly) that my battery seems to be draining faster than usual. So, I got a replacement battery and installed it. The battery installation seems to be fine, but my original problems still persist.
The crashes seem randomn and happens multiple times in a day. I've had my Clie crash/reset on the hotsync/recharge cradle. Sometimes, it starts vibrating (I have all alarm sounds/vibrations turned off) when it crashes. I'm at a loss and as things stand it is unusable! Any help and advice would be much appreciated to revive my Clie!! Thanks..

| Have you done a hard reset and then NOT hotsynced but rather reinstalled items one by one. If there is a software problem causing this when you do the hotsync to restore your recreating your problem.

In other words, I do a hard reset, and leave it aside without doing a hotsyc....it still crashes after a while. It may still have something to do with the base set of applications, but nothing that gets loaded during hotsync.

| I have had crash problems but a hard reset and a manual install of all apps / dbs have fixed the problem. I install a couple of new apps / games / utilities each day so I have accepted the risk of hard resets. Sometimes I have even had to hard reset twice before it worked properly. If your Clie crashes without a hotsync with just the standard ROM apps - ouch. No suggestions here. |

| Did you modify your ROM? Such as add or remove programs/files from the ROM via JackFlash or other utility>

| If have not modified the ROM, and you do a HARD reset but it still crashes - it has to be hardware related. It sort of sounds like something is heating up inside.
Not to patronize you, but you do know the difference between a hard reset and a reset by just pushing the button on the back right? I have to ask, simply because I've heard people talking about doing a hard reset when they were actually using the hardware reset button and doing a soft reset. You have to turn the unit on while holding the reset button in with a paperclip.
The reason for the previous digression, is that it sort of sounds like you've got a hack enabled that is crashing...
Good luck! I hope you get the problem resolved soon! Everyone deserves to have their brain (clie) running smoothly!
