| "Lost" CDs I'm a little more tolerent of. Sony is absolutely awful with helping you with preinstalled software. Most of the programs on the NZ CD are not available from the NZ support page. You have to get Palm Desktop from the NX page, and I'm not sure if you can get MS Import, ect. If you do legitimatly lose the CD, you are scewed. What's the point of having 2 dozen separate propritary programs that aren't easily available? At least Palm puts Palm Desktop is a reasonably easy-to-find spot.
Supprt for Vaios is about as bad. I have a brand spanking new TR1AP</brag>. My usual with OEM machines is to reformat, reinstall the OS and then only install the programs I need. The laptop doesn't come with a real XP CD. In addition to that, not all the drivers (in particular the non-standard 1280x768 LCD driver!) are available on the Web. Thank god for the Usenet! If Sony didn't make such great hardware, I'd never give them a second look. |

| I don't think broken screens are covered by warranty. The NZ90 has to still be in warranty otherwise, since it hasn't been out for a year yet. Sony's charge to repair it will be in the $150.00 to $200.00 range. It's still far cheaper than buying a new one.
